~C.L.'s POV~
I clamp down the razor sharp object against the last stand of my long, black hair. Once completely cutting through the piece of hair, the small pieces falls onto the floor, along with every other strand of my luscious locks. I set the scissors down on the vanity then look at my reflection, yet again. I couldn't stop staring at my new style. Instead of having the Rapunzel-length long, midnight black hair that I was known for, I was rocking an edgy pixie-cut.
I brush my hand through my newly shorten hair. "Hmm, I suppose I'll have to get use to this," I mumble.
I scan through my vanity and spot an old framed photograph placed at the edge of the desk.. I pick up the object, and once it was safely in between my two palms, I examine the photograph of my parents and me. I look at the still photo of my father and notice an uncanny resemblance. I glance at the photo then back at my reflection.
I chuckle. "Looks like I'm going to be my father's twin."
Suddenly, a rhythmic knock echoed throughout my room. Before I had the time to respond, Sebastian was already entering my room. Once laying eyes on me, he stops in place and his eyes widen. I suppose he didn't expect something drastic to happen in just those short minutes I had alone.
"Catherine, what have you done?" he asks.
I sigh, "I needed a change. I'm not exactly a normal person anymore."
"I understand that. But..." He gently picks up a piece of my short hair. "You look too much like your father now."
I giggle. "I just realized that now."
"I wonder how your aunt react. Speaking of which-"
Before he could finish his statement, I began hearing footsteps rushing towards my bedroom. Immediately after, Aunt Rose crashes into my room. Her worries was getting the best of her.
"Aunt Rose," I question.
"Catherine!" She rushes up to me and traps me into a tight hug. "My sweet Catherine, I'm relieved to see you in one piece," she weeps. Her shaking body was moving against my own. "I don't know what I've would've done without you."
"Don't worry; I'm fine," I try to reassure.
"It's just- You know, how many people are killed in car accidents? I couldn't bear to lose you."
"Oh-"
"And." She pushes herself away from me and examines my pixie-cut. "W-What happened to your hair?"
"I cut it, just now actually."
"W-Why?"
I sigh then turn my attention towards Sebastian. "Can you leave us alone for a few minutes?"
"Of course." He quickly exits my room, closing the door behind him and leaving my aunt and me alone in the room.
"What's this about, C.L.?" she asks.
I sit her down beside me on my bed. "Where exactly did you hear the news that I was in a car accident?"
"From Sebastian, of course."
"Well, that's not exactly true."
"Explain then."
"... I'm not exactly normal, Aunt Rose."
