Black and White ✘ Black Butler

Chapter 16

                After I crouch down to look under the vehicle, I was faced with not one but two adorable fluff-balls, or should I say kittens. Each of them were lying side by side, sleeping under the comfort of the warm engine. One of the kittens was fully black while its sibling was all white with its two front paws black, almost like mittens on the kitten.

Being an animal person myself, I've always been fond of cats and always want a few for myself. But, unfortunately, I was never allowed to since my Aunt Rose was allergic, and since she constantly came to visit, I could never have any pets at her. Even if it was my home, I still wanted to be respectful to my aunt and her condition.

But, I couldn't just leave these two cutie-pies out here, especially since their just kitten. Without thinking twice, I grab the two creatures from under the BMW. They didn't fight against my grasp, even when I woke them from their slumber. Once out in the light again, the two creatures flutter their tiny eyes. I couldn't help but gaze into their eyes; they were practically like crystal themselves. The black cat bears sapphire blue eyes while the white cat bears emerald green eyes. They were absolutely mesmerizing.

"You two are so adorable!" I squeal. It didn't matter if I sounded like Isabella for a moment there, I just go gull on girl-mode when I come face to face with animals. "Oh, I want to take you two home so bad..."

I look at my surroundings. I was hoping Sebastian wouldn't catch me; he knew about my rule about not having pets in the mansion. Then, I look back at the feline animals.

"I'll just make sure that Aunt Rose doesn't see you two. Well..." I bring the white kitten closer to my face. "I shall name you... Snowy." Then I bring the black cat closer to my view. "And, you shall be called Smokey." I cradle the two feline creatures against my chest. "You two shall be called Snowy and Smokey, and you two shall be mine!"

I swear, if anyone I knew ever saw me, they would be convinced that I was possessed by a spirit. They would literally drive me to a church and have me exercised. This side of me was unseen by others; no one, but I, knew about my animal-loving self.

Before I could continue admiring the young animals, Sebastian walks out of the shop. "Catherine... Are you alright?"

"No, I'm fine," I reply. I tried to conceal the kittens in front of me. I couldn't bear to part with these kittens.

"Then, why are you on the floor."

'Dammit,' I thought. With that, I slowly stood from the cement floor. I bite my lips then turn around to show Sebastian the two fluffy creatures in my arms. Once the animals were in view, I gave him a sheepish smile, trying to seem as innocent as I possibly could.

"They were under the car..."

Sebastian raises an eyebrow, but I swear I could notice a hint of red developing on his cheeks. "Are you suggesting we take them home?"

"Yes! I couldn't possibly leave them out here; they're only babies!"

"What about your aunt?"

"We can hide them. I just don't want to leave them behind."

"But-"

"I already named them and that's final!"

"I was just going to say I never thought of you as a cat person."

"What? You know me, Sebastian. How could you possibly not know about my love for animals?"
