*****Rhett's Point of View*****
"Hey honey, I'm home!" I called out as I walked in the door.
"Hey Rhett! Where have you been? You missed dinner!" Jessie exclaimed.
"I went to visit Cooper." I sighed. "And I don't know exactly what happened, but it must've been like a really bad headache or something because she was screaming and crying in pain, and I just couldn't leave her like that Jess. I just couldn't."
"Poor Kid." Jessie said. "I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through."
There was a moment of silence as we both agreed.
"I, uh, had this idea, but I wanted your opinion." I said.
"What is it?" Jessie asked.
"Well, Cooper's getting released in a few weeks for a break from treatment, and she doesn't really have anywhere to go..."
"And you wanted to know if she could stay here." Jessie finished.
"Yes. I mean, it's only 6 weeks, and she's gone through enough without being sent to live with a stranger."
"Are you sure about this Rhett?" Jessie asked.
"Very."
"Well, then I guess I'm on board." Jessie said with a small smile.
I leaned forward and planted a kiss on her lips. "You're awesome Jess."
She chuckled. "I know."
"By the way, this just puts us as an option. Nothing is locked in just yet." I said.
"DID YOU CALL ME?" Locke shouted from the other room.
Jessie and I both laughed.
"NO LOCKE." I called back.
"Should we tell the boys?" Jessie asked.
"No, we should wait until it's all for certain." I said.
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking." Jessie said.
I warmed my dinner up in the microwave and began to eat it. It was pretty good. Man, I love my wife.
*****Cooper's Point of View*****
()()() A few hours later ()()()
"Hey, Cooper, this came for you today" Nurse Genella said, handing me a letter.
"Oh, okay" I said, pulling the envelope open and pulling the card out. I quickly scanned the information.
"What is it?" Nurse Genella asked.
'It's a lunch invitation." I said, a little confused. "From Uncle Randy."
I handed the card to Nurse Genella and she quickly read over it. Her eyes went wide.
"Cooper, I don't know how, but he managed to get a reservation at one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city!"
"What?" I asked.
"There are people who would give their left arm for this invitation. I don't know how he did it. You should feel very lucky sweetheart."
"What kind of stuff do they have there? Why is so special?" I asked.
"All the chefs have like, PhD's in chemistry or something. It's all very sciency. They like use straight elements off the periodic table or something. It's really cool. And you can watch them make it. Celebrities dine there often. It's ridiculously hard to get in."
"Okay, that's pretty cool." I admitted.
"This is so exciting for you! I'm a tad jealous actually." Nurse Genella said.
"When is it?" I asked.
Nurse Genella checked the invite. "The day after tomorrow."
"Oh, awesome" I said with a yawn.
"Do you want me to leave so you can sleep?" Nurse Genella asked. Man, sometimes I'm certain she can read my mind.
I nodded slightly and snuggled down into my pillow. I'm so glad I brought my pillow when I had to go home. Hospital ones are awful.
"Okay Coop. Sleep well."
"Goodnight." I mumbled.
