"Alright, you should be good to go." Dr Anderson said.
"Yes!" I exclaimed, jumping out of the bed. Rhett and Dr Anderson laughed.
"Rest for 3 days, okay? And no stairs unless someone is helping you." Dr Anderson told me a little more sternly.
I grumbled and Rhett put his arm around me. "Don't worry doc, I'll look after it."
"Alright. Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow for the appointment."
"Appointment?!" I asked.
"Every Wednesday Cooper."
I grumbled again. Rhett grabbed our things and signed the release papers. Finally, I was allowed to leave this place.
"Uh, sorry about yesterday." I said awkwardly as I climbed in the car.
"Cooper, I specifically remember asking you not to apologize for these things." Rhett said firmly.
"Oh, right, sorry."
Rhett glared at me for apologizing again and I hung my head. He sighed. "Come here."
Rhett pulled me into a hug. We sat there for a moment, until I let go and leaned back into the car seat.
"Tired?" Rhett asked as he pulled onto the main road.
"Not really." I lied. "Thanks for staying with me. I know it can't be fun."
"It was worth it Cooper, don't worry." Rhett promised.
I sat silently for the next 5 minutes. Rhett looked like he was thinking about something. And he didn't look happy either.
"Did I say something?" I asked nervously.
"What? Of course not Cooper! Why would you think you did?"
Well, you look kind of, uh, angry."
"I'm not angry Super-Cooper." Rhett assued me.
"Well, what were you thinking about?" I asked.
"About what I'm going to get Link for his birthday." Rhett said. "I have no ideas."
"Ohh, right. I should probably get something as well. What were you thinking?" I asked.
"No idea. It's going to be hard to top last year's." Rhett sighed.
"The Mini-Links, right?'
"Yeah."
"So, are you looking for a real gift or a gag gift?" I asked.
"It'll be on GMM, so probably a gag gift." Rhett said.
I thought about it for a moment. "What about a taxidermied miniature horse? You could call Chuck Testa!"
"That's actually an amazing idea! Thanks Super-Cooper, I'll look into it." Rhett exclaimed.
I laughed. "Glad I could help."
We pulled up at the house and I grabbed my backpack, despite Rhett's careful gaze. I sighed and Rhett backed off a little bit. I've lost most of my independance, but I'm desperate to keep the little bit that I still have.
Rhett opened the door for me and we walked through to the dining room. Link and Christy were here, sitting with Jessie.
"Hey Super-Cooper!" Link exclaimed, getting up and hugging me. "Are you feeling better?"
"Yeah, much better." I told everyone
"That's good sweetie." Jessie told me. "The kids are all out in the living room if you want to go and play with them."
