"What did I tell you about being CAREFUL!?" Doctor Anderson shouted at me. I sunk into my seat a little.

"I've spent a month telling you to be careful, not to do anything stupid. And then you go ahead and DO SOMETHING STUPID!"

"I'm Sorry." I exclaimed. "I didn't mean to."

"Yes, you did." Doctor Anderson sighed. He flopped into his chair and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Cooper, do you have any idea what would've happened if you had hit your head?"

"Uh...I would have ended up back here?" I guessed.

"No. You would end up dead."

I sighed. "Well, I'm dying anyway."

"Cooper, me and all the nurses are doing everything we can to make sure that that doesn't happen! We're trying to keep you alive!" Doctor Anderson exclaimed.

"Well, I didn't ask you to do that." I said plainly.

"But your parents did. And it's my duty to make sure that you don't die like this. You're young and I want you to get better so you CAN do stupid things like riding a skateboard, but until then, I need you to be careful." Doctor Anderson said.

I sighed and leaned back in my bed. At least it was only two days until I got out of here.

"Now let me see the severity." Doctor Anderson asked eventually.

I held out my arm and he gently took the bandages off. He sighed.

"You're lucky you didn't break anything."

"Yeah, I know." I muttered.

There was more disinfectant and some new bandages before I was left to sleep.

"Come on Jess! We're already late!" I called to my wife, who was taking forever.

"Hang on! I've got to find my earrings!"

"We're going to a hospital! Not a fancy dress party!" I called back.

Jessie sighed and came around the corner. "Do I look okay?"

"You look like you're going to have lunch with the queen." I told her. She was dressed up.

"Well, I want to make a good impression! Plus you can't wear these heels without a nice dress." Jessie said.

I sighed and kissed her forehead. "Come on, let's go. That includes you too, boys."

Locke and Shepherd reluctantly paused the YouTube video that they were watching and we all headed out to the car. Me driving, Jessie in the passenger seat and the boys in the backseat. I finally drove out of the driveway and started driving down to the hospital a little above the speed limit.

"They should be here by now!" I sighed.

"Yeah, I know." Nurse Genella said, patting my shoulders. "I'm pretty sure that they have a good reason for it. Don't worry."

"But what if they've changed their mind?" I asked.

"They won't have." Nurse Genella assured me.

I slumped in my chair a little more and sighed again. I had been looking forward to this for almost a month. All sorts of horrible thoughts about what could've happened to them were entering my mind.
