"Alright Cooper. You know the deal."

"Yes. I do." I sighed. I was waiting in the lobby with Dr Anderson and Nurse Genella for Uncle Randy, who was taking me out to lunch.

"Good. Where's the bracelet with my number on it?"

I begrudgingly pulled out the red wristband and put it on. "Happy now?"

"Yes." Dr Anderson said.

I grumbled and slouched in my chair. Apparently I wasn't allowed to stand for long periods of time, so Dr Anderson forced me to sit down.

"Hey, don't look so down. This is exciting!" Nurse Genella said, patting my shoulder.

"Yeah" I mumbled.

"Oh look, here he is!" Dr Anderson called. I looked up to see Uncle Randy walking towards us. He was dressed in a suit and tie.

"You look...formal" I stammered. He was wearing a suit jacket...and I was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. And ugg boots.

"Don't worry, I've got arrangements at the restaurant." Uncle Randy said. "Are you ready to go?"

"Uh...sure I guess." I said, grabbing my backpack. Uncle Randy took it off of me. I hate the fact that nobody lets me carry anything. It's not even that heavy!

I got up to follow him and we started walking away, before Dr Anderson cleared his throat. We all turned to face him.

"Crutches, Cooper."

I groaned. "Please, I don't need them."

"It's that or a wheelchair."

I begrudgingly walked back and took them off the doctor. He looked at me. "Use them Cooper." he told me sternly.

I reluctantly put them under my arms and crutched out after Uncle Randy. I felt a little out of place standing next to him.

We reached a rather expensive-looking sports car. Uncle Randy fumbled with his keys and unlocked it.

"This is yours?" I asked, half in shock.

"Yeah. Hop in!" he said, getting in the drivers' seat.

I pulled the door open and climbed in. Man, this car was really cool. I looked around. Uncle Randy laughed and started driving out of the hospital carpark.

"So...I'm really hope you'll like me after lunch today" Uncle Randy said.

"Who said I didn't like you?"

"You kind of inferred it."

"Oh. Uh...Sorry." I said.

Uncle Randy chucked. "Don't worry about it Cooper, I understand."

The rest of the half-hour car ride was in dead silence. I looked out the window at the city streets until we reached the restaurant. We climbed out and Uncle Randy threw the valet driver his keys.

"Take care of her, okay?"

"Of course, sir."

I looked at Uncle Randy and we flashed a grin. "Come on, we've got a reservation."

I slowly crutched in after him into the lobby. It was very fancy to say the least. Everyone else was in formal wear. I felt really out of place. People were giving me stares.

"Uncle Randy...should I be wearing something like that?" I asked, gesturing to a girl who was wearing a really fancy dress.

"Don't worry about it Coopy. I've made special arrangements." Uncle Randy said. For some reason, this only made me feel more awkward. I hate being the person that needs the rules to be bent to fit their needs.
