I cuddled on the couch. My little beagle Ginggy barking out the window probably at a bird. I shushed him as the movie played. I was home alone. My parents both magically had business trips on the same weekend, like you actually have to go across the country to talk to your boss when video chatting is there 24/7. A knock on the door made my tiny dog throw a fuss. I rolled my eyes as the dog ran to the door.

That's when my door opened.

"Ginggy no opening the door-" I looked and screamed.

A guy with a black mask slammed my door and ran over. My eyes widened. I went to grab my phone when fingers dug into my wrist. I screamed again and trashed. The man covered my mouth with his tough hand. I was trembling. My dog ran upstairs to hide. Thanks Ginggy.

"Be quiet and I will make it worth your wild," He said, his voice low but still had a light feeling to it. I was scared what he would do to me. But me being an idiot when he let go, I yelled.

"What do you want!" I ragged. He pushed me into my hallway.

"Hide me," He said desperate. He wasn't as tough as I thought when I saw a black mask, I saw some softness in his eyes.

"Why?" I snapped.

"Look I stole a lot of cash and I can't explain right now but I will give you a thousand to hide me right now," He said.

"No I could go to jail!" I protested.

"So can I! Look this money is for my little sister. She can't provide for herself. I can tell you everything later just please help me," The guy pleaded. I bit my lip. Most people who commit crimes do it out of anger, or feeling that the world owns them. Some, just don't know what else to do. I could tell he was the second one, he was just a kid like me. He didn't know what he was doing and he was realizing that he didn't. I had to help. I then nodded.

"Follow me," I walked to my hallways closet. He followed me in. I walked to the racks of coats and moved them aside, showing a door you can't really see unless you look inches away. I opened it. "It's the secret hiding place in case someone like you robs my house," I said bitterly.

"Thank you," He whispered and crawled in. It was just a small area like a closet. It could fit three people. So it worked. I shut the door and moved the coats to place. I walked back out to hear a door knocking. I walked to the door and opened to see three scary looking guys. I looked wide eyed at them. My blood ran cold as sweat gathered at my palms. What was I willing to give up for this guy?

"Do you know a Shawn Mendes?"

"No sorry," I played it cool, trying to get them to leave as fast as I could. They glanced at each other.

Then they left. And I got a thousand bucks and saved a guy and his sister.
