(a/n I am upset)

"Shawn got any life savers?" I asked.

"No you ate them all," He deadpanned. I laughed. I swung my legs over the edge of my best friends tree house. It didn't matter if we were freshmen in highschool (go with it), and we didn't care what people thought anyways. His tree house overlooked a forest. And it was beautiful. Breathtaking. Always an amazing sight. I watched the trees slowly sway with the wind.

"Want to go to the park and swing"? He asked. I sprang up.

"Of course," I jumped down the ladder. He lived right down the street from the park. And I loved swings since I was a kid. He laughed and followed. We walked eagerly to the park. Him bumping his shoulder into me many times followed by me groaning and shoving him back. When we got there we ran straight to the swings and hoped on. We swung. Laughing and joking. There wasn't anyone here except a jogger with their dog and an old woman with a kid walking.

"Okay okay. So do you remember the time where we painted ourselves camo and hid in the bushes and grabbed peoples ankles as they walked by," Shawn laughed. I was basically dying at this point.

"The girl with the banana and she threw it at us," I replied chuckling. We were throwing funny stories out, remembering them and having a good time.

Soon though, shivers ran down my spine and fear settled in my blood. As voices of insurability idiots dimmed the brightness of her day.

"Can't get out of your childish habits Y/N?" I internally groaned and turned, still sitting in my swing. Three boys who couldn't have got anymore annoying at this point were preached up against their bikes with cocky grins on their filthy faces. Probably from fighting in fight clubs around town, because that is what boys with nothing to do with time do. And torture innocent girls that haven't done anything.

"Can't get out of your high pitched voice that still makes you sound like you are twelve Taylor?" I snapped back. "I guess puberty forgot to deepen your voice and your-- you know." Shawn laughed next to me. His friends chuckled beside him too. I bit my lip smiling.

"You know you would be prettier without such a bitchy attitude," He snickered.

"You know you would have a girlfriend if you could ever stop kissing up to everyone's asses."

"You have some balls Y/L/N."

"Better than being a guy with none."

"Y/N we should leave," Shawn budded in. I glanced at him. Gazing over his warning features. Shaking my head.

"Now they can leave." I said to them. I had wits, but my confidence was nothing like this was. This was-- fire. This was desire to stand up for myself. Usually Shawn did. But now I was throwing out the comebacks.

"I can make you leave with a black eye," Taylor said to me.

"Be the first person you would ever damage. And if the only hit you can get is on a girl, I am just sorry for you mister," My eyes darted to Shawn again who was clenching his fists, patiently waiting for the time he could intervene and stop the situation. I gave him a reassuring nod. But nothing I could tell him would calm his bubbling anxiety raging in the mind of his.

"You should think before you say."

"Why because I am the first person to ever stand up to your oh so scary personality," I fired. What happened after was more of a blur of a memory. His knuckles were flashing in my mind. And pain surged through my face. And I was falling.

I hit the ground with a thump. I blinked viciously, trying to gain sight. Though everything was a haze. My world turning in slow motion. I gathered myself as I stared at dirt. My head was pounding. Every heart beat as loud as a million trumpets in my ear. I felt my head turn slowly, feeling like the weight of heavy, wet sand. I touched my hand softly to my lips. The warm substance making me want to cringe. I coughed, and the crimson liquid dripped onto the dirt. When everything started to clear in my vision, I looked up. And Shawn was standing, towering me. Staring at the boys as they hurried to their bikes. He opened his mouth, ready to talk, but I cut him off.

"Did you hurt them?" I asked, my voice a little strained. He smiled.

"Going to look like he put purple eye shadow all over his eyes like a five year old." He held out his hand. I shakily grabbed in and he pulled me up. I stared at him. We stayed silent a second. Just looking into each other eyes. He chuckled lightly. "You have small hands," He said as he flattened mine against his. His fingers much longer. But it didn't help he also was like almost a foot taller.I watched our hands, as his fingers gently intertwined with mine. I gave the smallest smile. "I would kiss you if he didn't hurt you," He frowned. "You still look just beautiful though." I wiped the blood on my arm. And I kissed him anyways. His hand went to my cheek. And I felt my whole body relax. I had to break away soon because of the pain.

"Thank you. Shawn," I whispered.

"I would do anything for you," He responded.

"As I would for you. You are my life saver you know."

"If that is said so I will buy you candy Y/N we won't work out."

"Darn."

A/N

Cute one! I am sorry about the lack of updates. From drama, to school work, basketball and just being there for my friends and family, I have't had much time. Only a month and I am out of school so excited. I go to Kentucky next week also for a weekend with my choir (choir geek and proud). I am pumped. I hope you all liked this, I may have not been uploading everyday but theses have also been longer than 300 words like a few of these so they take more time. Bye :))))))
