The night sky was filled with little white dots as she looked above. Her hands were clasped around the railing of the pier. The sound of the waves below hitting the wooden pillars was the only sound she could hear. It was peaceful. The sky was completely uninterrupted from it's breathtaking beauty.

"Y/N?" She heard a soft voice call. She glanced to the side of her  Shawn walked up, and placed his hands on the rail next to hers. She glanced at him.

"Shawn," She whispered.

"This view is just enthralling is it not?" Shawn said with a smile on his face. She chuckled. And turned her gaze back to the stars.

"Yes. It is," Y/N agreed. When she took a quick look back at him, she realized his eyes were just as bright as the stars. When he looked at her, he realized how her hair sparkled against the light of the moon. It was just like the light off the ocean waves.

Shawn and Y/N sat in silence. But it was comfortable. Like they had always been. They have known each other for a long time. She didn't know he would be at the pier the same time she would. But she was fine with it. Cause she always secretly wanted his company.

"You know I always wish on  stars," he stated.

"You, wish on stars?" She scoffed with a laugh.

"Yes. Mine as well. I guess, it is a strain of hope. Something to hang on to," Shawn explained.

"Yeah. Yeah," She agreed. She bit her lip and closed her eyes

Little did Shawn ever know, he was her shiny star.

They had always been very, very close friends.

But to Y/N, he was everything. She didn't have many friends. But she was one of many friends to Shawn. Shawn still put her first in his mind though.

"What are you doing here?" Shawn asked curiously. He watched her closely, looking for clues on her emotions through her facial expression. But she looked blank to him. He knew blank was still something. She felt empty. And he knew that feeling empty was worse than feeling sad.

She sighed, and smiled. They both knew she was playing cards with him. Her smile was just part of her poker face.

"Just came to get away," She replied.

"At ten o'clock at night?"

"Not like it is that uncommon. Look out of all of the people that could have met me here. You," She snapped. Shawn flinched a little.

"Is... that a bad thing?" He leaned a little closer to her.

"Both."

"Both?" He asked.

"Indeed." He waited for her to explain herself. But she was being particularly difficult today. And she waited for him to ask. Just because she wanted someone to finally ask her about herself.

"Why?"

"Because my dear friend Shawn, life is like-" She stopped for a second but lit up "the sky. We are all like the stars. Just a mess of hot gas that project light. But some, are brighter than others. I want to be a bright star. Happy and full. But the brightness is lost. Like I am missing it. I am dimmed. I am so stressed with everything going on. I am so busy trying to make everyone else happy, that I can't be happy myself!" She said.

He stood a second, not sure what to do.

"We are stars you say?" He smiled. She looked at him confused as to why he would reply like he did. Before she could bicker, he already cut her off. "I have met many stars in my day. But Y/N, I have never seen a star as bright as you."

She shook her head and started to laugh.

"What?"

"You have always been like that," She rolled her eyes.

"What do you mean 'like that'?" He asked. He watched her turn to face him. He then noticed how pale she looked at night. It was like she was the moon. It just made her whole body shine a little more though. He loved it.

"So conifdent, maybe even cocky."

"Cocky?" He raised an eyebrow.

"That is what I am talking about!" She yelled.

"Okay take a breather," Shawn tried to hush her. She only got more angry.

"Never tell a girl to calm down."

"Can I tell her to shut up?"

"No how would you do that you-"

He kissed her.

She stared at him with wide eyes after he pulled away.

"Like that," He smiled.

"Is that how you shut up every girl?" She asked in a whisper.

"No. I just wanted an excuse to kiss you," Shawn took her hand in his.

"Well. Uhhh," She laughed a little. She was speechless.

"Here. Let me help you. I like you. And maybe we can combine our little star powers. And make an explosion," He said smoothly. She laughed.

"Just kiss me again you idiot."

He did.
