I blinked tears out my eyes as I grabbed my bags out of Shawn's car. He was silent. I didn't want to leave him. But he had to do music. And I wanted to help kids on Africa. We thought about long distance. But knew our schedules wouldn't be nice to us about that. Where I was going also had little technology. He grabbed my open hand as we walked into the airport. I looked up at him. His face was slightly pale. Realistically he would never see his love again. And we both knew. But the way his lip slightly trembled and how he blinked more than usual made my stomach churn. Was I regretting this? I stopped and let my suitcase fall. I covered my head in my hands. Hot years welled my eyes.
"Babe?" He stopped and faced me. He took my hands in his so I was looking at him. I shook my head.
"Don't-Don't call me that," I fought weakly. His eyebrows narrowed. "I'm not your babe anymore. I'm leaving forever. I could die out there the second I reach Africa. I-" The slightest touch of his finger on my lips made me silent. He controlled me.
"I will love you forever Y/N. You could die right here, marry another guy or forget me from your memories. But I will never, ever stop loving you. I can marry sooner or later. I could have kids who I love dearly and all that. But I will still love you. Nothing will change how I feel," He stroked my hair. I felt like melting. Every word of his was a speech. No word not meaningful and from his heart. I tried to block the incoming tears but it was no use.
"I will never forget you," I Choked out. "I love you," He smiled.
"We found each other two years ago. We can do it again. My name isn't changing sweetheart. This isn't the end of us okay?" He said softly. I nodded. He hugged me tight. Our souls intertwining in rhythm one last time. "You have it right?" He whispered in my hair. I nodded. The album was on my iPod. "You can always hear my voice. Never be alone Y/N," I nodded. Then I pressed my lips to his passionately. Not hard or wanting. Soft, gentle but needy. We both had so much emotion that swirled together as we connected. What felt like internal, was cut off as I knew I had to leave. It was time to day goodbye. "This isn't goodbye. It's see ya later," He said smiling with blotchy eyes.
"Alligator. I love you Shawn," I said.
"I love you. Y/N," I grabbed my bags and went through the line. Knowing he was standing behind me. Making sure to see me turn the corner after the security line. I went through the process of my bags and finally made it passed. I looked back. I waved to the standing figure. So handsome. He was. He smiled and waved. But I turned and started to walk. My last at him was him crying. Goodbye Shawn. I thought. Then I walked to my gate alone.
