Warning abuse
Shawns POV
I don't know if this night could get any more nerve racking. I had a runaway girl in my basement and probably a raged ex at my door. Her face was ghost white.
"Go in the closet. He won't be getting to you okay? Not when I'm alive. Go hide and be quiet. Don't freak out it will be fine," I insisted. She nodded and scurried into the closet.
"Go in the closet. He won't be getting to you okay? Not when I'm alive. Go hide and be quiet. Don't freak out it will be fine." I whispered.
"Shawn I'm scared," My little sister had tears running down her cheeks. I hugged her. She was shaking.
"Daddy won't touch you Aaliyah. I promise. Go hide I will guard rhe door," I said quickly.
"But what about you Shawn?" She asked glancing up at me with worried eyes.
"I will be okay sis. And even if you hear anything. Don't come out got it. Promise me. No matter what you hear you don't come out Aaliyah," I said. She nodded, blinking furiously. I shooed her into my closet.
"Wait Shawn-" She said. I closed the closet door.
Now I was protecting a stranger. Against a stranger. Not my father and my baby sister. I walked upstairs and heard a voice.
"Open this door!"
"Open this door!" I stood silently. Though my heart pounding was louder than any word I could say. I could hear Aaliyah whimper. I pled when he barged in he wouldn't hear her. I didn't care about getting hurt. But he couldn't lay a hand on her. He wouldn't lay a hand of her.
He wouldn't lay a hand on her. I would not let anything happen to this girl. I opened the door.
He kicked down my door. And I looked into his vicious eyes.
"Have you seen a girl?" He asked quickly.
"No," I said coolly.
"There was a girl running down the sidewalk and I could've sworn I saw her turn here?" He asked. I wanted to cringe at his smell. That reeked of weed and alcohol. I gave him a questioning look.
"Was she yelling or anything because if she was it didnt wake me up I was sleeping on the couch until you banged on my door," I said.
"I swear she went here," He said accusly.
"I'm sorry I don't know what you are even talking about,"
"Yes you do," His voice got louder. My blood felt as heavy as iron in my veins.
"I would like you to leave my house now," I said strictly.
"You have her,"
"I don't know who 'she' is." Thats when he barged into my house.
"What are you doing!" I gulped.
"Dad go away!"
"What did you say to me!" He stormed to me. The little 10 year old facing the over 6 foot drunk.
"Go away!" I yelled. He grabbed me and threw me across the room.
I punched him in the jaw. He yelled out.
"Don't talk to me like that I will kill you!"
"Dont come in my house I will kill you!"
"You abusive prick!" I spat.
"You abusive prick!" I felt a rush of pain in my gut. He punched me. And I bended over.
"Where is she I will hurt you much worse!" The guy said. We started fighting. Tackiling each other and swinging our fists.
"Shawn!"
"Shawn!" I glanced over in panic. She ran over. Before she could get to me though.
She had to get through my dad.
Why didn't she stay in the closet..
Why didn't she stay in the closet. My dad grabbed her. And punched her. Square in her little pretty face. I tried to get up. Stumbling I tried to go save her. But he just kicked me away. And I hit my head against the cherry surface of my floor. Everything was slightly blurry. And I couldn't move. I could only hear the screams of my little sister begging for help. Calling for me. My dad yelled. And kicked her. Shaked her. Hurt her. Her.
I couldn't let that happen to her. I seemed to gain more power. In the split second he glanced at her. I got a hit right in her jugular. His head snapped back against the floor.
I couldn't even say anything. Nothing came out of my mouth when I opened it. Aaliyah was being totured. Screaming. Crying.
"Shawn please help me!"
I couldn't help.
I had to help. He looked at me as I kept nailing him. Imagining my father in his features. The same drunk abusive excuses for men.
I could feel tears drip down my face. As I laid hopeless. My little sister soon knocked out cold. But he didn't stop.
I could feel sweat dripping down my face. Soon he was out cold.
I stopped. And glanced.
She was so beat up.
She was so beat up.
But a beautiful little girl.
But a goregous woman.
"Thank you," She ran up to me and hugged me. I stood in shock. Of all the events.
"I am not letting a girl get hurt.... Again," I whisper. She broke from the hug.
"I'm so sorry I barged into your house,"
"I see what you were running from. Its okay. Lets just call a different police station now," I said.
She barely smiled.
But she smiled.
"Okay."
