Thirty Eight - Closure

It's our last friday here in school dahil wednesday the next week would be our graduation day.

Nagulat din ako nang kasama na namin magpractice si Ice. He said that Miss Vin Davis, the daughter of the President of our school's institution from abroad, yung babaeng nakita kong kasama ni Ice na naglalakad papuntang pool area, at ang babaeng nakita kong hinalikan si Ice, ang babaeng pinagselosan ko raw. Oo siya. She didn't want Ice's assistance today according to what Ice told me.

And according to what has been announced to us, today will be the last day of the 3-day Official Visit.

Good grief.

Last day na din ng practices today. Sa wednesday na uli kami magkikita-kita for the last time as high school students. And what's to come is still unknown.

Nang matapos ang practice, nagkayayaan ang barkada na mag merienda sa labas. Complete attendance! Robbie and I went there together. Agatha, Lorin and Sol arrived together. Dane and Tricia of course were there. Syempre pati si Ice.

Last day daw. I beg to disagree. This won't be the last for us. Magkokolehiyo pa kami. And that won't stop us from still seeing each other. Our friendship shall not end there. I bet, hahanap-hanapin nila yung ganitong lunch out namin.

Nang nagkayayaan nang umuwi, Ice insisted that he take me home. My home, of course. Hindi na ako nagpapilit, pumayag nalang ako.

Dane left with Tricia and Agatha since same village lang silang tatlo. Sol went with Lorin to take her home safely. Robbie always has their car with their driver.

Nagtaxi lang kami. And as we reached home, akala ko ay ihahatid niya lang talaga ako pauwi pero nagulat ako nang nagbayad na siya sa driver at pinaalis na din ang taxi.

So I had no choice but to invite him in.

While we were walking inside, he held my arm. "Crim," he said.

Nilingon ko siya saka ko siya tinaasan ng kilay. "What is it?"

He sighed before speaking. "Can we talk?"

I thought about what he said and just nodded. Mukhang kailangan niya talaga to eh sa paraan ng pagkakasabi niya. Pinaupo ko siya sa pool patio before I excused myself to bring him some refreshments.

I don't know kung anong sasabihin niya. But he seemed serious about this. Parang kailangang-kailangan niya talaga.

Nagpaalam muna ako kay kuya sa kwarto niya na nakarating na ako sa bahay. Ipinaalam ko na din na nandito si Ice.

"Papuntahin mo agad dito si Yvan pagdating niya ha," he reminded me. Tumango nalang ako saka umalis at pinuntahan si Ice.

"So," I greeted and sat in front of him as I placed the tray on the table. "What do you want to talk about?"

"I want to know what happened." He said.

"What happened where?" Pagtataka ko.

"We had a promise that the results wouldn't matter, had we not?"

Natigilan ako. So this is what he wanted to talk about. I felt my shoulders down. I nodded.

"But it still affected you anyway.." He said softly. "What happened Crim?"

His eyes were seeking for answers. Anxiety was evident in his face.

I sighed.

"I got confused." Plain kong sagot. He didn't speak which I guess is a sign that he wanted to hear more.
