So it was confirmed that Rose shapeshifted herself a womb so she could have Steven. It wasn't an accidental pregnancy but a wanted one. She knew she would have to give up her form but she still did it. Why? It can't be for Greg's happiness since he lost the love of his life. And why would Rose sacrifice the lives of millions just to make one man happy? She wouldn't leave Earth defenseless so she thought of something. If her and a human had a child, it would be a hybrid. A gem and a human. One that could withstand all of the new gem tech. Even the gem destabilizer. Since Steven is half human the gem destabilizer couldn't effect him. If he was to fuse with a gem the gem destabilizer wouldn't work due to the fusion having human in it. Steven was all a part of Rose's plan.
