I believe that history is repeating with Peridot and Steven.
Pearl was a loyal knight and protector to Rose Quartz and I believe that Peridot will be the same towards Steven.
Rose convinced Pearl to betray her Diamond and homeworld, Peridot betrayed her Diamond and homeworld for Steven.
Rose introduced Pearl to new concepts/ideas and Steven is doing the same thing to Peridot.
Rose convinced Pearl that Earth was worth protecting and Steven did the same to Peridot.
