Jace Imagine-Lava Lamp

"Shit." You muttered, quickly picking yourself up. The thing was ugly, no doubt, you had a long gash in her leg because it caught you sleeping. You fumbled for your Seraph blade, but only got your phone. Without thinking, you dialed Jace.

"Y/N?"
"Yeah, so I've got a- ah, fuck, hold on." You set the phone down on your table as the thing pounded on the bathroom door. You were finally able to grab your blade just as it broke the door, and you let out a battle cry before sticking it in the head. Well, one of its heads. It kept going and you flipped over it, but it caught your injured leg. You let out a shrill scream of pain as it gnawed on it and kicked it away with your other leg. Silent tears ran down your face as you crawled away from it, tongue twisting, spitting blood behind you. In desperation you ripped your clunky dial up off your night table and started bashing at it, blindly, shouting profanities as you went.

It hissed malevolently at you, your leg throbbed as you went. You were continued bludgeoning it, as it blocked the way to the bathroom, where your blade lay abandoned.

"ONE TWO FUCK YOU!" You screamed, and suddenly the door to your room burst open. Jace dashed in, Isabelle behind him, and she swiftly finished off the beast. You sat back, panting.

"Thanks, thanks." You nodded, and then dropped your phone. "What the hell happened?!" He was angry. You glared up at him. "I was asleep, Jace. It happens to the best of us."
"I just don't see how you could be so-" Isabelle coughed. "Says the boy who got pounced on in a public toilet because he ignored his sensor." Jace sighed and glared down at you as you ran a hand through your hair. "I think I'll need a new phone." Isabelle chuckled dryly. "Yeah, well, it didn't get you did it?" You froze suddenly. The adrenaline had covered up the pain...

"Crap." The pain returned to you suddenly, making you almost cry as your vision went spotty. It was funny, how your mind handled pain. "Jace?" He hauled the thing off of you and almost shouted again. Your leg was simply a mess.

"Can we do this here?!"
"No, she needs the institute!"
"Fuck!" He swiftly picked you up and ran you out to the car. Isabelle broke several laws as she sped to the institute. It was only a few blocks, but it felt like eternity. You lost consciousness not even half way there.

___________

You shivered as your lids peeled open, facing the high vaulted ceiling of the institute sick room. Your left hand was at your side, your right was folded over your chest, but your left hand was being gripped tightly. You moved your leg, slightly, and found that it didn't hurt at all. Good. It would be concerning if it did. You looked over to see that it was Jace gripping you so tightly, head drooped, leaned way back. You stifled a laugh at how haphazard he was when he slept, and very slowly moved your hand out of his. He shocked you by jerking awake. "No Isabe....Y/N."  You raised a brow and carefully slipped your hand from his.

"Long day, hmm?" He sighed and adjusted his position a bit, so that he was sitting normally, and ran a hand through his hair. "Long night. Uncharacteristic, I know. I'd wait to look at your leg."

Of course, you immediately tugged the sheet back to see that you were in your favorite pair of pajama pants. Confused, you tugged up the cloth on the injured side, only to let out a low whistle. Your leg looked scraped at, chunks missing, torn, yet healed over. "We were late." He muttered, and you shook your head. "It's my fault. I hadn't slept in a few days, so I wasn't like I usually am...thank you, Jace."

"There's no need to thank me, Y/N. I'm just glad you had the sense to call me. Otherwise, you would be dead."
"Yeah." You muttered softly, and swung your legs over the bed. "You didn't have to stay here all night."
He stood and helped you up, making sure you were alright before letting you walk out on your own. He followed you. "Maybe I didn't. I wouldn't have slept if I wasn't next to you."
"But you knew i'd be fine."
"Yes."
"So?"
"So, even if I knew that, I didn't want to risk it." You gave him an odd look and walked a bit further, only to see Alec carrying a box. "Hey Alec, what's....that's my lava lamp!" You spotted it and cried out in indignation.

"Of course it is, idiot. Be thankful i'm carrying it and not Isabelle, she's already dropped your clothes twice." You turned to look at Jace. "What is this?!"
"You're moving in, obviously. After what happened, you can't be living alone."
"Oh." You said, softly, and he sighed. "What I meant to say was that I can't have you living alone." You stared at him, shocked. "Mmm?"
"Directly across from my own, as nothing less could be tolerated."
"Oh, of course. Couldn't be." He shot you a coy smile out the corner of his eye, and you groaned, pulling him towards you by his collar.

"What are you-" You cut him off by sealing your lips to his. He smirked into the kiss.

"That's disgusting!" Isabelle shouted, and you flipped her off  as the kiss deepened.
