Batman/Bruce Wayne Imagine
Y/n L/n was a bad guy, but she wasn't a bad person.
Let's get the ball rolling, yeah? If someone was doing an autobiography about her, regardless of who it was, they would only be half-right. A reporter looking at her as a wealthy socialite might title the piece: "Generosity & Class" or something dreadful like that. On the other hand, a reporter looking at the very worst villains that take up residence in Gotham might look at the woman wearing a black hood and call his article: "Fear for your Lives". Both of them would be correct, but nobody knew that they should connect the two stories.
Nobody should beat themselves up about it, though. Who would figure that the booming heiress to the L/n fortune, fiancee to Bruce Wayne and contributor to countless charities, was the same 'Shadow' that made her way across rooftops like they were the sea and she was a fish? Nobody who thought tinfoil hats were for loonies, that's for sure.
Let's get the interesting stuff out there first--'Shadow' was Gotham's ill-defined vigilante. I say ill-defined because nobody knew who she was, everything she did, or even how she looked. The best the public had been able to get was a handful of blurry snapshots, and they all showed the same thing. A (short/tall) woman with a hood over her head, nothing but a shadow where you'd normally see a face. That wasn't how she got her name, though. Would-be victims of a whole bunch of petty crimes had been rescued by her, and before they could get a word out, she'd be gone.
She'd started off slow--beating up a few muggers, knocking out a rapist or two. Her first headline got out when she killed a man who had his gun on a woman walking home from work. The woman had managed a really crappy photo, presumably because The Shadow was in shock. She hadn't killed anyone before, but it seemed that incident started a trend.
People started relating her to the Batman, alike in nearly every way save her homicidal tendencies and aversion to being captured by the naked eye. Funny thing is, people still seemed to want Batman behind bars more than her. Maybe that's because she didn't have half a dozen super villains committing epic crimes and killing countless people just to antagonize her--but maybe it's just because he's better known.
And so, that same vigilante was covering healing bruises with foundation a powder on a very important afternoon. He closest friends and female family members were all waiting patiently in the limo downstairs, getting buzzed off of orange juice with a few drops of champagne. She'd told Bruce that they didn't need to do anything exciting, but they were going to Metropolis to get the whole 'spa experience'. This was likely due to the fact that Bruce had cameras on him like he was the star of a reality T.V show, and Y/n was a very traditional girl. She didn't want to see him, and he wasn't allowed to see her.
She painted on a smile and practiced her fake laughter in the mirror, gave herself a quick once-over, and she went to join the party.
It wasn't that she wasn't happy that she was getting married--she just didn't want the whole 'bachelorette' experience. The night before, they'd gone to a strip club, and Y/n sat perfectly still while a man with a fake tan gyrated towards her face. That night she'd complained about it, head in Bruce's lap, and he'd simply laughed in response. Apparently, to keep up relations, he'd used a bachelor party to go out to a steak dinner with some wealthy compatriots of his. When she asked him if he wanted a real party--strippers, booze, bad tattoos--he'd frowned.
