I was sitting in my bedroom minding my own business when my mother barged in all drunk.

"Zoe! Get up!" She yelled pulling my sheets off of my body.

"What do you want?" I asked nicely.

"GET OUUUUUTTTTT!" She screamed. I was surprised she could scream so loud. So I left my house because I didn't want to deal with her crap right now. I just started walking I didn't know where I was gonna go and I didn't care.

But I just walked to the vacant lot and started to sleep on a bench.

"Hey Greaser!" A man's voice woke me up. I shivered because I was so cold.

"Oh! So you're a girl." He stated the obvious as his buddies laughed their asses off.

"What do ya want?" I questioned angrily.

"To come over here, and I'll teach you a lesson!" He slurred. I just stood there standing my ground. As they came closer and closer. I stepped closer and closer as well. Then I reached in my back pocket for my knife. I wasn't scared of these fools. I could take them on.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" A man's voice from behind the Socs yelled. They all looked frightened, then they ran off into their cars as the young man watched them run away.

"Why would you do that?" I asked him. I couldn't see his face because it was so dark but I saw his presence.

"Do what? I took them off of your back." He inquired.

"I could handle them! On my own!" I cursed at him walking towards him. I raised my hand to slap him but he grabbed my wrist stopping me. I saw his face under the lamp post. My jaw dropped, he was so cute! His eyes opened widely. He must've noticed me too. I slowly lowered my hand.

"I'm sorry," I apologized, "Thank you for taking them off my back."

"Don't worry about it," He smiled, "I'm Darry."

"Zoe." I introduced myself.

"Do you have somewhere to stay tonight?"

"No, I don't." I answered. "

"Wanna stay at my house?" He asked. I just met this guy! Whatever.

"Sureeee." I grinned. I stayed at his house with his brothers and he was so sweet!
