"How have I been acting different?" "This past month. You just seem really private." Miriam said. "I spent the night at Bruno's last night." I said. "Don't tell me you two..." "No!" I quickly said. "Why were you at his house last night?" "We planned on having a private dinner and..." "And.....what?" "He told me he loved me Mimi." Miriam hugged me. "But I said no." "Why? Why the hell would you say no?" "Because I started thinking of Michael, how he told me he loved me, and then the abuse, and then everything fell apart. I'm scared. I don't want to go down that road again." "Did you tell him that?" "I did, and his eyes, I can tell he was hurt, but he tried to hide. He respected my choice. I just knew that pain he was feeling, so I then told him, I will date him." Miriam looked at him. "He looks so loving, I know he will protect you." Bruno walked over to us. "I hate to intrude on sister conversations, but is everything okay?" "Yes, everything is okay, and I told her already Bruno." I said. He looked at Miriam. "Don't look at me!" Mimi jokingly said. "She's your pain in the ass now!" We all laughed and went back to the couch.
