I met Shima in the library after school as promised sitting across from him at the table and seeing Bon and Konekomaru at the book shelves looking through the manga.
"I'm sorry about last time," Shima started, "I didn't mean to make ya feel that bad. It would have been better if I had this last piece of information to follow it up with."
"No it's fine." I answered quickly, what else could have been done about it anyway.
"Well as I said your mother did happen to be adopted by a family from Germany, and I have their location."
I gasped my eyes widened until his face went blurry, "To see them!?"
"Yes they just so happen to be taking their vacation here in Japan." He slid a paper over to me with an address written on the front, and several papers attached with the name of the orphanage, the adopted parents name and phone number. My first instinct was to rush to a computer and put in the address in to map it out. There was a slight commotion behind us but I wasn't exactly paying attention to why or what was going on, Shima didn't bother as well and leaned over me his brown eyes scanning the page as I typed.
They were staying in a expensive hotel near one of Japan's national park reserves and popular hot springs but still within the True Cross District. My heart raced and my logical thinking began to fly out of my mind wanting to just follow the map on foot, running all the way! But once I got to the hotel how would I know if they were even there, and there was no way I could really make it there on foot within a reasonable time, and what would I say!? My eyes glanced down at the paper looking over the phone number listed by the names: Kim and Weiter. W-was the name pronounced how it looked? I wasn't fluent in German at all and just receiving a call from a long lost grandchild at random one day they could think I'm some kind of scam artist and never give me a second thought, they'd hang up on me!
Suddenly a heavy hand thumped on my shoulder, as well as Shima's making us both jump. Shima let out a little squeak his face went pale as he whirled around.
"Hey take it easy spy kid." it was Author August Angel, the Paladin who picked me up from the air port!
"Y-you startled me sir!" Shima sighed, "And nothing but a bug can do that." he relaxed and showed a smile.
"Well I don't mean to bug you kids, I just wanted to check in on our new student. I would have done so sooner but the work of a Paladin like me is never finished!~" He chuckled proudly, "So Larrisa was it? How has True Cross treated you?"
Fine Sir Angel, the boy who started stalking me when I first arrived is my boyfriend and also happens to be a demon, the Earth King to be more exact, the younger brother of the Headmaster. I've made many friends including a spy that took on the task of helping me track down the past of my mother which is still an ongoing story...
"Uh.. fine, it's been great." I answered looking up with a red face of embarrassment and frustration.
"Good to hear! If you don't mind, what are you working on? Looks like a map."
"Nothi-"
"Actually Sir Angel," Shima silenced my almost automatic answer, "Lannie has to meet someone that belongs to her family, but we're having some problems."
"Problems?" Angel raised a brow becoming interested.
"Well, they've never met. As far as we know they don't know she exists and I think she's a little shy on contacting them herself."
"Oo amazing! Don't hesitate Larrisa-kun go for it!" He tossed his thumb up at me with an encouraging smile.
"I can't!" I squeaked and hid my face in my hands going over the many ways everything could go wrong.
"Think you could help us Sir?" Shima grabbed the papers and thrust them to Angel. At that moment before I could protest it seemed to go all to fast while I was stuck in slow motion. Angel held the phone to his ear after dialing in the number and began speaking to someone.
When he hung up and slipped his little white and gold crested phone back into his pocket he had set up a meeting date tomorrow for me to meet them!
"I'll take you personally, and don't worry they speak Japanese too although it isn't exactly their strong point they have a heavy German accent, but luckily I speak that too!" He said again flaunting his talents about, "So I'll meet you tomorrow after school I'll pick you up!" He began to leave waving to us.
