--Amaimon Pov--

I don't understand, this has never happened to me before. I didn't think the Reaper would ever budge, I never meant for it to move! But at the sight of Lannie and that other boy together, the way they're so close... Just her with anyone else, it sets me off. At first I had thought it wasn't real, like I was over reacting to things. But when the Reaper actually reacted to the heat growing in my chest when Bon handed her that water I knew for a fact that it was real. What ever 'it' is... What is this??? Maybe I'm sick, or this girl isn't really human and has some kind of spell over me. And I'd be mad, if I wasn't enjoying it as much as I hated it all at the same time!  The rest of the classes, I couldn't concentrate; as if I needed any direction from teachers to understand the work, but I had blocked out everything trying to figure out why this all had happened.

Finally lunch time arrived and I was sent a text from brother. I searched my pockets of the new uniform finding my little flip phone and read the message:

'Having a good day? Tell me all about it when you get home tonight! You're lunch account is set up so don't worry about anything Aniue has you covered! ;) '

I followed Lannie to the lunchroom and we got in line. It felt good to be out in the open with out the lingering feeling of the trouble I'd get if I was caught, and to spend all day with Lannie, with out hiding made me happier. I looked over my shoulder behind me to Lannie only to see her frowning as she searched through her bag.

"What's wrong?" I asked turning around to face her.
"Oh" she looked up her face a light pink, "I don't know how much is left on the account I have. I've been getting the cheapest meal they serve so that I could save, my Pappy has been sending me money but I don't want to bother him with that, I should get a job soon."
"You don't want him to send money?" Why wouldn't anyone just take the money willingly given to them?
"Well it's just that he and Grammy need the money for other things, and I'm old enough to get a job here, so if I can pull my weight then I should do it, I can't depend on them forever I'll have to make my own money and all by myself."
Humans vary in such extreme differences, some take and take with out regrets while others feel the regret of someone's kindness in fear they'll cross the line into taking advantage of someone.
"You shouldn't really feel that bad about someone giving you something like that." I answered, "do you feel bad that I gave you my tie?"
"U-Umm, well a little. Now you don't have one... Won't your brother get mad to see you gave it to someone else?"
"No, he has plenty more to lend to me. Would you feel bad if someone gave you a free meal?"
"A free meal? Well I guess I'd feel like I owe them something..."
"How about when someone gives you a bottle of water after gym class?" I crossed my arms holding in the heat from my chest again. Every time I think of it I grow angry.
"No, that's different! I mean it wasn't out of his own pocket so he isn't spending extra on me! I can't believe it, was that why you were sulking all day!?"
"What- that's not the point, why do you say it as if you don't deserve anyone's thoughts of kindness?!"

We both glared at each other and I felt the cheeks of my face light up with the look of her eyes, it was enough to send icy tingles down my spine.
"Kids you're holding up the line!" The woman at the register called. I didn't realize it but I had lost track of the line and had backed up the entire cafeteria. Lannie thrust her hands at my chest and shoved me forward, "Hurry up before someone gets angry and starts something!"
"What can I get for you pumpkin?" The lady asked when I got to the counter.
"I'm not a Pumpkin I don't even look close to one!"
"Figure of speech darlin'! Alright wise guy pick somethin or get outta the line."
I looked back at the menu options, nothing was striking me or looking appealing to me, I was already used to Aunie's diet of Instant Ramen cups and candy. I glanced at Lannie and found exactly what I wanted, but she wasn't on the menu... Hehe I made myself smile with that one.
