A/N: I'm updating because like I said, I can't stay away from writing. It's an addiction, but please don't beg for another update. I'm mentally worn out from all of this Wattpad drama. This book is so close to being finished, so I'm finishing it. It has been my goal to finish it by Christmas. Also, this is the last Author's note since they annoy everyone so much. Sorry for getting upset.
I woke up with a start, the bright lights quickly blinded me, causing me to wince. I rubbed my eyes, trying to get them to adjust to the light. After a minute they adjusted and the ache went away, I scanned the room, frowning. Emerald was no longer here so I can't exactly talk to her about her parents that caused Samuel pain. I bit my lip, why didn't Samuel tell me? I ran my hand through my hair, this sucks.
"Arabella?"
I snapped my head to the door as Samuel walked in, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. I swallowed, tears welled up in my eyes as a smile made its way on my face. He closed the door before slowly walking over, he winced here and there, but was quick to hug me. He crawled into the hospital bed with me and cradled me against his chest. I chuckled, enjoying the feeling of his arms around me. He kissed me cheek and sighed, we laid here for a while as he just kept kissing me every now and then.
"How are you feeling?" he whispered.
I smiled softly, "Way better than before."
"Good, you scared me."
"I was only out for a day."
"Arabella, you were out for four days."
"Four?" I gasped, looking at him in shock.
He nodded, "Yeah, four."
"Oh...uh, well, are you fully healed now? You were wincing."
He nodded slowly, "Kind of, apparently if you get hit with a silver bullet it does long lasting damage. I don't know what exactly, but my chest will hurt every now and then. Should be fine in a few weeks."
"Weeks?"
"Yeah, which means no training, no shifting, nothing. Not even sex." he pouted.
I rolled my eyes, "Oh, how are we going to survive without sex?"
"We can't!" he fake cried.
I laughed and kissed him on the cheek, I then frowned. I wanted to ask him about his parents, about what they really did to him, but I was afraid. What if he snaps? I have no idea how he handles this subject and I'm not really happy with finding out, but I do need to know in order to help him. I swallowed and clasped my hands together.
"Um...Samuel, can I ask you a question?" I whispered shyly.
He smirked, "You already did."
"Samuel, this is serious."
He frowned, "Sure, what's wrong?"
"What...did..." I sighed and decided to just wing it. "What did your parents do to you? Truly."
He paled, "As in...what?"
"As in...abuse...."
He didn't answer for a moment, he quickly looked down. He opened his mouth to speak, but then seemed to choke on air or something. After a few more minutes of calming himself down he finally looked back at me. His eyes mirrored his pain as he prepared to tell me, I felt slightly guilty for asking, but I know I needed to in order to help him.
"My mom wouldn't hit me, she just...she just told me she hated me and that I was a bastard child. After a while I didn't care and would ignore her, she wasn't worth my time if she wasn't going to act like an actual mother. Not once did she care about me or Emerald, she would just party and then have sex with my dad. Thank the goddess they grew some brain cells and doubled up on protection. Anyways, my father was a different story. When he was drunk he would do...painful things. I eventually didn't care either, it hurt like hell, every single hit and kick. However, I eventually became numb to the pain. What really bothered me was when he slapped Emerald for the first time, he hit her so hard that she spun and fell. She smacked her head on the kitchen table and cracked it open, that's how hard he hit her.
So, I did what any protective big brother would do, I stood in front of her. Guarding her. When he tried getting past to hit her again I punched him. We got into a physical fight after that and he did win. He beat the shit out of me that night, I was in the hospital for a month. My wolf was too exhausted to heal me, so he didn't. Every time after that I took the beatings while Emerald went and hid. Eventually my parents disappeared and I took over." he whispered.
I was stunned, I had no idea what to say as he looked at me with sorrowful eyes. "I'm sorry I never told you..." he murmured.
I sighed and wrapped my arms around him, "I don't care if you didn't tell me earlier, but now that you did I'm happy. I'm so sorry you had to go through that." I whispered into his ear.
He wrapped his arms around me and cried, "I'm no better than my father."
I tensed up, "Samuel, don't you dare go down that path, that is done and over with. Is that what you've been thinking this whole entire time?"
He swallowed, "Y-yes."
"Which is why you kept apologizing and bringing it up." I stated.
He nodded quietly. "I'm sorry."
I let out a breath and crushed my lips to his, "You are nothing like him." I murmured.
