Chapter 42

"Hey Mum can Talon stay at ours tonight?" I asked as I entered the kitchen were eveyone was sat at the table drinking coffee. Jakes head shot in my direction as to say what?

"Of course hunny, is everything okay?" Mums answers back.

"Yeah everything's fine, I think he's just got some family things going on" I said. Dad nodded in agreement with Mum and so did Jake in the end.

"Great well I'll go tell him" I say as I head out towards the hallway.

"Dan, hang on" Jake says catching up with me.

"Are you sure everything's okay?" He asked worried. I nod.

"Jake everything's fine I promise" I assure him then he smiles and walks back to the kitchen.

"They said you can stay over" I say as I enter Aurias room where Jake was sat on the sofa with Auria in his arms. I slide into the sofa beside him and rest my head on his shoulder.

"I should drive home and get some things then, are you sure you guys don't mind?" He asked.

"Of course not" I replied. He handed me Auria and we walked downstairs with Auria in my arms.

"I'll be about half hour okay?" He says. I nod and he grabs his coat and leaves.

"He going to get his stuff?" Mum asked from the kitchen. I wondered in and Jake was stood in the corner of the room. He took Auria and then headed into the living room with Dad.

"Yeah he won't be long" I say as I walk over to the kettle and cups.

"Will his family let him stay over?" Mum asked as she put down the magazine down she was reading and faced me.

"I guess so" I replied. I shouldn't tell Mum the truth it's not my place, it's Talon's privacy.

"He is telling his parents isn't he Dan?" Mum asked the third question in a row now.

"Mum please, everything's fine okay?" I say as I grab a cup from the side.

"If you say so" she replied.

"Do you want a cuppa?" I ask as I the kettle on.

"A coffee would be nice and I made some more of that lemonade you and Jake like if you want that instead" She suggested. I smile at her to say thank you. I pour my self a glass of water for now and make mum her coffee and hand it to her.

"Sweet I think there's something we should talk about whilst it's just us to" Mum said as she put her hands around the cup of coffee. I started to feel uncomfortable in my seat.

"What is it?" I asked worriedly.

"Well I got a phone call earlier, from Skys mum. She said that Sky had been going through some sort of problem and had no friends left to turn to. She said how your friendship with Sky had sort of broken down because of a boy. So sky's mum decided to send her off to her Dad's in London" She explained. Suddenly I felt hot and worried and quite sick. I felt tears form in my eyes.

"Darling what happened between the two of you?" Mum asked. I didn't know what to say. Yes I was angry at her but I didn't want her to leave. She's my best friend we would of sorted things out easily. Tears just started to flow and I put my head in my hands. Mum hurried round and sat beside me waiting for an answer.

"Sweetheart I need to know what's going on, something must be going on if it's made her want to move away. Talk to me Dan please!" She begged. I just looked at her. She didn't understand she doesn't know much of what's been going on in my life recently, we haven't had our mother and daughter bond in ages.
