Tris Pedrad Dauntless Born

Chapter 19

Tris POV:
I wake up in the hospital with Uri and Zeke in beds next to me. Mum probably already left to go to work. And sure enough i see a note on the table next to me. I try to sit up and reach it but my ribs are killing me. I wince and let out a small cry of pain. It's still enough to wake up zeke. "Hey Trissy what's wrong?" "Nothing. My ribs are only killing me. I wanted to read the note." He nods sits up and grabs the note then read it out loud:
"Hey Kids, i had to go to work. But i'll ask wheter i can get the day off tomorrow.
Kiss Mum." I nod and ask zeke: "hey zekey could you get me something to eat? I'm starving." "Sure!" He says nodding eagerly then jumps up and walks out of the room. Then uri yawns. "Morning Uri." "Mworning" he says still not really awake. "Could you go and find me a nurse?" "Sure." He says while standing up. "I'll be back in a minute." He walks out of the room and i just lay in my bed waiting for my brothers to come back. After a few minutes Uri and a nurse come in. "Good morning ms pedrad." "Morning. And you can call me tris." "Ok so, tris. How are you?" "Well my chest only feels like its on fire but everything else is fine. How are you?" I say sarcasticly and i can hear her mutter something like: "dauntless." But then she steps closer and lifts my shirt a little bit. What i see shocks me: my whole chest and parts of my stomach are bandaged and when she lifts the bandage you can see that my whole chest is blue-green. Uri cringes and i say: "hey uri it's not your fault. You didn't do it on purpose." He nods but doesn't look convinced. I reach out my hand to him, ignoring the pain. He takes it and i squeeze his hand. The nurse says: "since you are all awake i can get the doctor." "I can eat, right?" "Yes you can." She answers before turning around and walking out. Then Zeke comes in along with mar, lynn, shaun and four the girls all squeel when they see me and try to hug me but uri says: "no hugs. It would hurt her." They nod and only squeeze my shoulder. Honestly i'm pretty glad they didn't hug me. I dont think i would survive three bone crushing hugs. "Hey you four." I greet them. Then four says: "shauna we have to go. We have to train initiates. Mar, lynn are you coming?" "Alright." They say sighing. "Was good to see you tris." Lynn says and mar and shauna nod. They all leave and i'm alone with my brothers again. "Here i brought you something to eat." Zeke says holding two tablets with food "but i guess it won't be as good as in dauntless." "Probably not." Uri and i say and uri takes one of the tablets. Zeke sets the other one down next to me. I try to take the fork but zeke stops me. "Don't! I will feed you. It will hurt you to eat yourself." I roll my eyes but give in i haven't been fed in a long time. And there is no sence in arguing with zeke.
ok but i'm allowed to sit up. "Fine." He says and pushes a button. The head of my bed slowly lifts and i slowly get pushed in a sitting position. It hurts pretty much but when it finally stoped i manage to get in a comfortable position and open my mouth while saying: "now feed me." Zeke laughs and puts a bit scrambled egg on the fork and puts it in my open mouth while uri sits in a chair laughing.
After a few minutes of feeding the doctor comes in "hello tris. I'm doctor roth. But you can call me veronica." "hey" we all greet. "I would like to take a look at your ribs." "Sure go ahead." "Is it ok if some students come and take a look a your ribs?" "Yes!" i say but uri says at the same time "No!" "Uri, it's alright they just want to learn somthing and i mean they are my ribs." "But i don't want them to see you half naked." "Uri stop it. It's alright. You can get them." I say the last part towards doctor veronice. "Ok thanks. And Mr pedrad don't worry all of them are well educated medicine students." He doesn't say anything just sits in the corner. "Uriah! Don't be rude!" I shout. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry." "No problem. I understand you just want to protect your sister." He nods she leaves and i smile: "wasn't that bad was it?" He sticks out his tounge and zeke and i laugh.
When the 5 students arrive together with veronica, uri and Zeke both stand next to my bed. "Alright please be careful with her. Broken rips hurt very badly." I nod and say: "agreed!" They laugh. Then veronica steps next to my bed and the students take places next to her or at my feet. One of them begins to explain: "ms tris pedrad, brought here yesterday with two broken rips because of a kick in the stomach." Uriah cringes and i take his hand. "Luckily the pleura wasn't injured so we only had to bandage her torax and give painkillers. Today we do a x-ray to check whether nothing else is injured. If this is not the case she can leave today." Veronica nods and then starts to lift up the bandage and reveals my blue-green body. I notice that she is the only one touching me, probably because of uri. She begins to explain some medicalstuff and i barely listen. Instead i look at zeke and uri who both are staring at my stomach because of the colour. Uri still looks guilty and i give his hand another squeeze and he smiles at me thankfully. Then veronica leaves with the words: "we'll pick you up in 20 minutes for your x-ray." "Ok." I answer and she leaves.
Time laps after the x-ray:
I get wheeled back to my room. Veronica told me that nothing else was injured and that i'm finally allowed to go home but will have to take it easy and take the painkillers. Yeah whatever... when i'm back at my room uricorn and zekey-wekey are already ready to go. I quickly change and then we walk, well i more like stumble to the train tracks. Although every step hurts i'm glad to be out of the hospital. Every other step i lean on Uri or zeke and in the end they end up carrying me. Jumping on the train suddenly seems like an impossible thing and they have to throw me inside carfully before jumping in themselfs.

So tris is out of the hospital...
