Cath's POV :

"The City Festival", that's how this magnificent event was called. Dance parades, stalls and rides filled the large space. It was a combination of a carnival and an amusement park. Currently we stood in front of a funhouse called 'The House Of Mirrors.'

"You have to split into teams of two. Each team needs to enter the house from the two different doors and find the items listed here." The man behind the counter pointed to the card pasted on the wall. "The team that finds all the things and exits first gets the prize. But both the members should be present to conclude the team as the winner. So be sure not to get lost in the maze." The man handed us our tickets.

"Girls vs boys?" Sam asked.

"That's boring. Sam you're on my team." Michael pulled her away to the door before any of us could protest. "Beat you to the exit losers." He yelled and ran inside the house.

"No way in hell!" Daniel shouted back and ran towards the door. He opened the door and looked at me. "Come fast!" He shouted and I ran towards him.

We entered inside. "You go to the right and I'll go to the left. That way we could find the things faster. Meet you at the exit." Daniel ran towards the path on the left.

Alone. Strange place. Alone. I gulped as the creepy thoughts entered my mind. This was a really bad idea. I tried opening the door but it was locked. There was no other way to escape than to find the exit.

I slowly stepped forward. The sound of my footsteps was the only noise that could be heard. I turned to the right. All the walls were actually made of mirrors. Some were ordinary ones while some were concave or convex.

The lights flickered, sending a shiver down my spine. I felt someone following me. I froze on my place and turned around.

"Daniel?" I whisper-yelled, only to be answered by dead silence.

"Nobody's here. Nobody's here." I mumbled to myself. The lights stopped flickering but it was much dimmer now. All these things were usually attributed for the presence of a ghost. But that was the last thing I was afraid of.

I gulped and increased my pace. I didn't care to look around for the things. I just wanted to get out of there. I made a few turns around the maze, not really knowing where to go.

"You're a sin!" A faint whisper made me halt. My breath hitched. I slowly turned around, afraid that my movement will give away my location to the predator. Sweat dripped all over my body.

I came face to face with the only person around. A girl with dark circles around her lifeless dark brown eyes; her skin pale and drained out of blood; her body weak and trembling; her hands shivered; sweat dripped on her face and the hair stood erect all over her body. I hated to look at her. I hated to look at myself in this state.
