Daniel's POV:

I was so tensed that my back muscles began to ache. Where the hell were they? I tried calling Sam again but then I remembered it. Shit! How would she attend my call? I groaned in frustration and cut the call that was trying to connect with the person I desperately wanted to see right now. I hated myself this moment more than any other moment in my life. Why did I have to ruin this more than it already was?!

I tried calling Michael this time but he wasn't attending it! Was he with her? Who knew?! If only he would attend the call! The call kept ringing until it ended on its own and I received an automated message stating that he was driving. As if he even obeys the basic rules of driving!

Stupid asshole would suddenly turn all sincere when it isn't required of him to!

I threw my phone on the couch and propped myself up steadily. The back of my foot hurt a little as it touched the carpet floor. I needed to remind myself of the bandage around my right foot the next time I try to land it on the ground. I propped my hands on the sides of the couch. Putting my full support on the furniture, I pushed myself up and stood straight. Or as straight as I could with a limping feet.

"You could have called me for help." Catherine tied her hair around in a bun and walked towards me. Her body was weak from exhaustion and the dark circles around her eyes were proof enough to show the lack of sleep in her system for the last few days. All the crazy things that have been happening lately must have caught up to her.

"Here let me help you." She came beside me to lift my arm but I pulled it back.

"It's okay peanuts. I can help myself." I smiled faintly. This helping side of her always reminded me of Emma which made me miss her even more than the usual. Everything would have been better if she was around but things had to turn up so messy.

I sighed and shook my head as Catherine tried to lift my arm again. "I am going to be really heavy. You can't carry me."

"Are you calling me weak?" She smiled faintly. I could sense her trying to lighten up our mood but it just reminded me of someone I could never forget about. Sam. Just the name made me smile even though I should be worried. She just had to shove my attitude on my face as she fought like a tigress. It impressed me inspite of the situation we were in.
