Meanwhile, at the beach :

Sam's POV :

We were playing volleyball and it was great fun. Daniel was getting pissed off whenever Blake came beside me. Though I didn't exactly know why, I was beginning to think it was because he was becoming jealous. And I've got to admit it was so much fun getting all worked up. I couldn't get the stupid grin off my face all the while and it only made him scowl more.

We just finished playing the game. Though we had occasional slips, our team won in the end. I jogged off to the place where our mat was laid on the sand with all our stuff on it. I bent down with my hands on my knees and panted to catch my breathe.

Daniel was standing in the opposite side, a few feet away in a similar position. His eyes scanned my legs and slowly moved up my body. His eyes widened a little and I looked confused. I looked down at myself to see my tank top and might I say it had hung a little low.

My eyes widened and I stood up straight. I correct my top and looked at him again. His lips formed into a smirk but I could see the grin he was trying to hide. He winked at me which made me gasp. 'Bad boy' I mouthed to him to which he chuckled.

I shook my head with a smile on my lips and drank water from the bottle that was next to our bags. Just then Harry ran upto me and laid down on the mat. That's when I realised Catherine was no where to be seen.

"Where is Catherine?" I asked Harry, since he was the one talking with her when we were playing.

"Uh, she went somewhere with Michael."

"Michael?" I raised my eyebrows as I realised that he too wasn't there. I picked up my bag from the mat and searched for my cell phone. When I finally found it, I dialled Michael's number.

"Hello?" He spoke.

"Is Catherine with you?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Where the hell are you guys? And why didn't you tell me?" I yelled at him.

"Geez, calm down woman. She was bored and we came for some shopping."

"Well, it doesn't hurt to tell me first!" I defended myself.

He sighed. "You wanted her to be happy right?"

"Yeah." I said, unsure of where this conversation was leading to.

"How would she be, if she had to ask your permission for everything? You need to trust her to make her own decisions."

"I'm her best friend and I have the right to care about her. And don't blame me for not finding the need to trust her again." I spat at him.

"I know, I know. But you gotta loosen up your ropes around her. Treat her as am individual who has her own feelings and desires. Just let her make up her own decisions. How long could you protect her like that anyway? She is not a child anymore Sam."

He was right in a way. I sighed and shook my head in defeat. "Okay, just take good care of her and make sure she is safe. No matter what, don't let her alone anywhere and always keep your eyes on her."
