Cath's POV:
"No. This doesn't feel right!" I scratched my hair as I looked at the list of things that I have written. I groaned. This doesn't look anything like fun! I crushed the paper and threw it into the dust bin that was moved next to our table since it was distracting for the customers in the diner to watch me move back and forth to the dustbin and our table.
Jane was generous enough to let Blake, Zoran and I have a whole table in her diner for us the whole of the morning. We were seated by the corner of the shop where not many people walked by. Our table was decorated with papers and pens to accommodate us on our mission to find a list of things to do.
It wasn't too crowded but still customers stormed in and out of the place at a very fast pace. Since it was the morning rush, the number of people moving in and out seemed more than the number of people found on the streets of New York.
"I give up!" I let out a frustrated cry and pulled my hair at the roots. "Thinking of something to do for fun is much more difficult than I thought it to be!"
Blake chuckled and grabbed the umth croissant from the plate opposite to me and stuffed it inside his mouth. "Ish ishnt cho hart if oo teenk weet a fung maind!" That's all I could make out from his muffled voice that came out during the intervals of his munching.
"What?" My eyebrows knit together to form creases on my forehead.
Zoran tapped my shoulder and I turned on my side to where he was seated. "What he is trying to say is that it isn't so hard if you could think of things from a fun mind!"
"Exactly!" Blake grinned as he burped from a overfilled stomach. How does he manage to be so fit when he eats like a barbarian man?
I rolled my eyes. "I am sorry guys, but if you didn't notice I don't have a fun mind!"
"Just Chillax!" Blake shrugged and smirked. "Not everyone has a useful brain like me!"
"If I ever decide that ruining my own life with totally irrational and nonsensical ideas that don't exist is much more useful than living a sensible life, I'd be sure to use your brains!" Zoran grinned. Blake threw a cookie at him which he caught right in his mouth and munched it down. They sure do know how to survive in case of the fall of the modern civilisation. These guys right here proved that man is still capable of surviving as a cave man.
"Guys!" I sighed impatiently. "I just wanted to spend the rest of the time I have left to make something memorable of it and all we guys managed to do is waste all the time we have. You don't know how much important it is for me to make the rest of time we have count as much as possible!"
The two stopped bickering for a minute and stared at me quietly. It was odd to see them silent and it made me self conscious. Did I say something wrong? I averted my gaze to and fro between the two of them but they remained silent.
"What's wrong?" I asked, unable to bear it any longer.
Zoran squeezed my hand lightly. His eyes were lightly watery and he tried to give me a faint smile. "You're not planning to leave us now, are you?"
"No!" I said too quickly. When I realised it, I tried to cover up with a nervous laugh but who was I fooling. They probably knew my intentions to stay behind without Sam. But I couldn't be sure of it nor let them know about it. "Why would I do that?"
"You said that you wanted to make the most of the time you have left. What did you mean by it?" Blake stared at me blankly. No more was the guy who played along and made fun. In front of me was seated a man who didn't want to take any more bullshit. But I had no other choice.
