Sunday Morning - Hotel Room
Sam's POV:
It was a little late when I had got up in the morning. After Michael came upto me last night, I cried on this shoulder and he never asked me why. Thats what I liked about him. He knew that if I wanted to talk about it then I would have. Being the best friend that he is, he let me cry on my own.
We then checked in at a hotel that was near the beach. Cath and I got a single room while the rest of the guys shared another two rooms. Cath was already up and bathing in the bathroom.
There was a faint knock at the door. I got up from my bed and opened the door. My eyes widened as I saw Daniel standing there. After all the revelation last night, I didn't see him again. I wasn't ready for it yet.
"What do you want?" I snapped at him. I didn't want to hide how angry I was at him for leading me on to something that was never going to happen.
He was caught off guard by my blunt rudeness. "Uh.. Michael wanted me to give this to Cath." He handed me a large shopping bag inside which was a rectangular box. I took it from his hands. "And he also told her to get ready at six. He wants to take her somewhere."
"Okay, I'll inform her." I nodded and was about to close the door but was blocked by Daniel's leg. "Wait!"
"What?" I asked in a bored tone.
"Uh.." He pulled the collar of his shirt a little away from his neck as if he was nervous.
"Hurry up or please get going!" I snapped at him.
"Wait! Wait! I want to talk to you."
"You are now!"
He sighed and ran a hand down his face. "Stop being so difficult Samantha!"
"I am not. Just tell me what you were going to say and we both can go back on our ways." I crossed my arms against my chest.
He sighed. "Fine. I am sorry about last night.."
I rolled my eyes. If he thinks that apologising for revealing it all last night is going to get him on my good side, he is so wrong! I am not my mother!
I showed my hand signalling for him to stop and he did. "Stop it Daniel. You don't have to apologise for anything. Let's just forget about everything and go back to how we were before."
"So are we alright?" Daniel asked unsure and I could see the hint of hope in them.
"No Daniel we're not! I meant you to forget about whatever the hell was happening between us yesterday and go back to how we were before we came here. Being enemies! That's what we do best!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Are you breaking up with me?"
I rolled my eyes. "We were never together in the first place to begin with."
He gasped and raised his eyebrows. "You're going through all this for what happened last night? Unbelievable! I told you that I did a mistake and I am sorry for it!"
"You think it's just about last night? Use your brain Daniel and look for what all you made me go through. And then you might find your answer."
He sighed with a dejected look. "Fine. I'll stay away from you if thats what you want. But know that this was your decision, not mine!" With that he stormed away to the hallway without shooting a single glance my way.
I shut the door and pressed my back towards it. Slowly, I slumped down to the floor. If this is what I wanted, then why does it feel like the end of the world? I drew my knees towards my chest and laid my head over it.
