"Oh look! A Mechon M69 part!" Shulk yelled excitedly, and ran towards the broken down robotic, desperately searching through the rubble of the worn-out machine. You just face-palmed to yourself, shaking your head in the process.

"Oh Shulk, why are you even looking through that old junk anyway?"

"Because (Name), I might find something worth checking out back in the lab." He answered, still rummaging through the robot.

"Gosh, Shulk, you really need to get out of your lab every once in awhile and get some fresh air." You advised. "I think working in a lab has completely took over you. Like seriously." You said annoyed, crossing your arms and tapping your foot on the ground impatiently.

A few seconds passed before Shulk sighed, and threw a broken metal disk on the ground. Making you flinch badly.

"Oh it's useless!" He exclaimed. "It was buckled... again..."

"Haha! Really? That's the third time that happened to you today." You laughed again, he just stared at the broken disk in disappointment.

"...I really thought that was a decent enough piece (Name)." He muttered, sounding blundered. "Anyways, let's continue on adventuring, shall we?"

"Well, why are we out here then?" He frowned and you chuckled. "Just joking Shulk. Let's go before it's gets too late."

"Okay."

And away you two went, strolling together through the great vast field called Gaur Plains. Many sources of wildlife aimlessly roamed around the area, eating the grass on the ground, drinking water, or sometimes you two even get to see two animals fight each other. Which was pretty entertaining to watch, and very rare to come across.

But if you didn't find one, it didn't really matter, the peaceful scenery helped soothe your mind and made you think the world was not such a bad place.

After two hours passed of constant roaming around the plains, the sky started turning a dark orange color, with the sun gradually setting into the horizon. Evening was approaching very soon.

You looked up at Shulk, who was walking alongside you, looking forward, fully focused on what's on front of him.

"...Hey Shulk?... Shouldn't we be getting back?" You asked him, slightly worried that you might not return in time.

He only kept looking forward, not looking at you. "...Yeah, we should.... but... Don't you want to see how this place looks at nighttime?"

You bit your lip, deciding whether or not to accept his offer. "...I don't know... Isn't this place is dangerous at night though?"

"...Partially. Now that you mentioned that, we should stay. There's strange things you see in here at night."

"But I don't know if there will be--"

Shulk interrupted you with a laugh. He patted your back trying to comfort and reassure you.

"Oh, don't worry (Name). You did bring your weapon... right?"

"Uh... yeah, I did this time." You slowly pulled out your rusty bronze sword from the scabbard. It wasn't fancy or anything, just a plain old sword used for many good reasons.

"Oh, excellent." Shulk took it and examined the sword. He only looked at it in disappointment. "...It's very close to breaking (Name)... I'll repair it and upgrade it for you when once we return."

"But Shulk, that won't be necessary."

"..What makes you say that?"

"Well... I know it's pretty expensive to repair weapons." You stated, trying to convince him otherwise. "But you don't have to do this if you don't want to."
