Twenty One

I forgot to tell you all, I changed the name of Joe's son from Ashton to Elliot. I decided to didn't like the name Ashton so much so that's why. I'll at some point go through the rest of the episodes and change it.

"No baby, your daddy isn't with us anymore." Demi breathed looking over at Joe who just gave her a sympathetic look. It was nearly four years since he died and Demi was only just getting over it, she didn't understand why it was taking so long but she just had to think about what a good time they had together and how much she really did love him.

"Do you want me to go?" Joe inquired but Demi shook her head.

"It's okay," She assured him. "I'll show you who your daddy is another time but now isn't a good time alright." She stroked his hair gently Kean nodding his head gently moving to sit next to Joe looking up at the man he barely knew.

"Can you tell me some cool policeman stories?" Demi giggled kissing his head gently.

"I'll leave you boys to it and check on dinner." Demi got up leaving the room Joe watching before turning to Kean a smile on his face but he begun to tell him a story. Nothing that was too violent but something he knew the young boy would enjoy listening to.

"Cool! More!" Kean exclaimed Joe laughing but continued. He liked to see the smile on Kean's face, it was like his mother's but he could see some features which he knew were Liam's but he was a kind man and knew Kean was starting to wonder about him. It was only going to come sooner rather than later with him starting kindergarten and other children having daddies and he doesn't.

It was after dinner that Joe wondered downstairs with Elliot in his arms. He seemed a lot better now he had a rest and had been changed. He was cooing as he stared up at his father enjoying the company he had. Joe entered the living room sitting down on the couch a smile on his face as Kean kneeled up on his knees to see him.

"What his name?" Kean questioned.

"Elliot." Joe replied wiping Elliot's mouth as he dribbled slightly.

"Why doesn't he do much?" Kean questioned again.

"Because he's not very old Kean, as he grows older and bigger he'll start getting more playful. He can smile though can't he?" Joe nodded his head looking at Kean.

"Stick your tongue out at him." He demanded softly Kean doing as he was told giggling as Elliot smiled looking up at Kean now waiting for him to do something else. He continued to pull faces at the young baby giggling everytime he smiled, his legs were kicking up and down with excitement Joe having a smile on his face too.

"Mommy you have baby?" Kean questioned running over to her Demi lifting him up onto her lap Demi kissing his head gently.

"Maybe one day baby boy." Demi answered. She didn't want to tell him that she was having a baby yet when something could still happen, she didn't want to give him false hope. He had been asking for a brother or sister for years now.

"Do you want to hold him?" Joe questioned.

"Can I?" Kean asked looking up at his mom.

"Yes but stay here and Joey will lay him in your arms." Demi instructed Joe standing up Demi showing Kean how he should position his hands to hold Elliot before Joe laid him down in his arms. Kean giggled as he felt the young boy smack his chest with his arm.

"Guess I'm not needed here, goodbye." Joe joked pretending to leave the room making Kean laugh at him. He smiled sitting back down next to him.

"Why his eyes closed?"

"Because he's going to sleep, babies need more sleep then we do and he just had a minor operation so he needs to recover." Demi explained but they kept Elliot in his arms for a little longer until he was in a deeper sleep then Joe took him back upstairs but he didn't want to be staying too much longer, Elliot had his own room at his place which he will sleep in.
