It had been about a week since Joe had his first session with Harvey and he had two more, one with Emily present but one with him by himself. It was important to be by himself at times, he may say things that he wouldn't with Emily around. Matt and Joey were still the only alters present but Harvey had told them it may take a while for more to come along. He could get a new one half a year from now if his mind wanted to. Matt rarely came out in the week but Joey came two or three times a day, Kean had seen him a couple of time but did as he was told and left the room getting Demi or Emily if they weren't already in the room.

"Are you calling Nick today?" Emily inquired as she fastened Elliot's diaper up, it had been a week and he kept pushing it away.

"Yeah maybe." Joe mumbled.

"Why are you so reluctant about doing it?" Emily inquired again as she pulled up Elliot's pants standing him up on his feet holding him up by his hands. Elliot squealed bouncing his legs a little bit Emily making sure he didn't topple over.

"I-I'm just scared he's like me, I don't know what he went through but it must have been similar. I'm scared that he'll just walk away too, I don't want to think someone important is coming into my life and he can't take who I am." Joe confessed.

"I can't say that he won't Joe because I don't know him but I'm sure he won't. He's probably wondering where you are as much as you're wondering where he is," Emily but sighed when he became distant again. "Hi Joey!"

"Joe is scared again!" Joe exclaimed getting up off the couch making his way over to the toy box getting a stuffed dinosaur out.

"Do you think he needs to be scared?" Joe shook his head.

"Nothing is scary!" It was strange for her to hear him say that when he was the complete opposite of himself. Joe would say everything was scary, especially what he was going through at the moment. Not knowing when his person would change.

"What is your favourite dinosaur?" Emily questioned.

" , it's massive!" Joe exclaimed his voice still childlike. Emily knew some people didn't believe the disorder Joe had, that they were all just acting but Emily knew Joe wasn't. There was no way he'd be able to keep up with this.

"It is isn't it." Emily cooed playing along watching as Joe begun to play with the toy on the floor. She somewhat enjoyed Joey being here, it gave Joe the childhood he never had and a break from how he was constantly feeling.

"Joey came out because you were scared again." Emily explained as Joe came back an hour later when Joey felt as if Joe was ready to come back himself.

"I-I can't call him Emily." Joe stammered.

"This is why I called him, because I knew you wouldn't, he will be here any minute so don't think about running away!" Emily exclaimed grabbing his hand, she was scared about Matt coming now because Joe was getting agitated. "Take deep breathes, we don't want Matt coming." Joe sighed begun to take deep breathes taking his hand running it through his hair.

"What if he doesn't want to be in my life?"

"All you can do is give it a go Joe," There was a knock on the door. "Now go open the door, I promise you things will work out fine." Joe was hesitant but he wondered over to the door his shaky hand reaching for the doorknob, he slowly opened the door revealing a young looking man a middle-aged woman stood right next to him, he recognised her straight away as his mother. He panicked slightly becoming distant.

"Need fags." He stated before pushing past them walking down the pathway and the street.
