Fifty Five

It had been a couple of days since Joe moved into the residential home which would help him get better. He had just been settling in, meeting and getting to know the staff he would be around a little bit. Denise was still around but would be leaving today after they spent a couple of hours together. Joe didn't know the next time he would be getting any visitors. Elliot was old enough to fly over with Emily but it was finding time with work, he wasn't allowed visitors for a couple of months during his treatment as it was. Demi had been coping better, she called Joe every morning when it was evening there and Kean got to talk to him a little bit too. She was getting ready to welcome her daughter, now she knew it was a girl she had started collecting bits for her arrival. She had just got back from picking Kean up after work seeing that Willa was already there with Colton and Emily who had Elliot. Kean ran over to Carter the two of them beginning to amuse themselves.

"How was work?" Willa questioned.

"It was good, it is helping me get my mind of Joe a little bit even if some of his colleagues are still asking how he is." Demi answered sitting down rubbing her bump gently.

"We have a surprise for you." Colton stated not being able to hold his excitement no longer, Demi rolled her eyes slightly making them laugh.

"I just got sat down and your making me move again." Demi grumbled but stood up following the three of them upstairs, she knew what was coming the closer she got. She entered the spare room she had in her house seeing that it was decorated as a nursery. She looked around seeing the crib against the feature wall, all the furniture matched as a while colour. She couldn't have asked for anything different. She wanted to take a picture and send it to Joe but she thought the pink would ruin the surprise for him.

"I love it guys." Demi breathed as she continued to look around laughing as Elliot reached out to go into the crib.

"This crib is not for a big boy like you!" Emily cooed kissing his head.

"You know I'm only nineteen weeks, there was plenty of time to get this done." Demi giggled admiring the feature wall.

"We know but we figured the fumes could go before she came, have you and Joe talked about any names at all?" Demi shook her head.

"It's not something we have spoke about, I have a couple of names in mind but I'll have to talk to him about it at some point," Demi answered. "Thanks guys, this is a huge weight lifted from my shoulders." They figured it would cheer her up a little bit.

"You're welcome." Emily gave her a side hug Demi kissing Elliot's cheek as he cooed up at her, he reminded her of his father, it was comforting.

"Is this where my little sister will sleep?" Kean questioned as he looked around the room Demi laying her hands on his shoulders kissing his head.

"Yes it is, she's not ready to come yet though so we'll still have to wait a little while." Demi answered letting him walk away to explore the room a little more.

"I know!" Kean exclaimed running out of the room Demi shaking her head at her son sitting down on the couch for a minute, he legs were aching her. Kean soon came back though holding something in her hands.

"What's that baby?" Demi questioned.

"My lion teddy, I want my baby sister to have it!" Kean stated thrusting it to his mom.

"Kean are you sure?" Kean nodded his head letting his mom take it from him. "I'm sure she'll sleep extra well knowing her big brother gave her this." Demi kissed his forehead before lifting him up for just one minute letting him place it in the crib.
