It had been a little over two months since Joe left to get himself better and he was slightly improving but it was something they would need to work on. Progress wouldn't come quickly. He had spoken to everyone on the phone, Demi everyday and the others every couple of days including his mother and brother who wanted to know his progress. Demi was now thirty weeks pregnant and getting closer and closer to her due date which was getting exciting not just so she can meet her daughter but because Joe would be coming home and seeing them all. She missed him being here, it was nice enough talking to him but she wanted him here in person. He still didn't know he had a daughter and not another son. But that thought was cut short when she started experiencing contractions at just thirty weeks, it scared her that Joe might not be here to see his daughter be born.

"Joe needs to be here." Demi choked threatening to cry, Willa just squeezed her hand gently, she was just over twelve weeks herself .

"We will make sure that you are going to give birth before we call him, I'm sure he'll be able to get on the next plane here and be here in time." Willa assured her.

"B-But what if it's a short labour?" Demi feared.

"Just stay positive." Emily encouraged, Colton was the one who was looking after Kean, Carter and Elliot, he offered not wanting to intrude when Joe could be there rather than him.

"I'm afraid Demi your in labour." Susan, the midwife stated as she entered the room.

"Can you stop it at all?" Susan shook her head.

"I'm afraid not, baby is on her way and that's it, we'll have a team of doctors waiting for her arrival in case something is wrong. Would you like reception to phone your partner?" Demi nodded her head letting the tears fall from her eyes.

"He has to be here." Demi demanded.

"I'm sure he'll try and get here as soon as he can." Susan stated before rushing out of the room. Willa just squeezed her hand a little tighter neither her or Emily know what to say to cheer her up. Only one person could and that was Joe. He was a eight hour plane ride away.

"Try not to think about it Demi, think about seeing your little girl for the first time." Emily suggested but Demi shook her head.

"I-I can't, she might not be healthy and I want him here. This is meant to be a happy time but I'm just crying." Demi choked.

"He'll get here in time, think positive." Demi shook her head as they helped her through a contraction.

"I won't get there in time!" Joe exclaimed as he rushed around his room packing everything he would need but at this moment he didn't care if he missed anything, he just wanted to get there and witness the birth of his child. He wanted to be happy that he was welcoming his child to the world but it was hard when he didn't know if he'd be there in time.

"We have a plane waiting for you, we'll do everything we can to make sure you do get there on time. Hopefully she has a long labour." Marty replied.

"I should be there through the labour." Joe mumbled letting the tears fall from his eyes, he didn't like the idea of Demi being in so much pain and him not being there. He knew she'd have her friends there but it wasn't quite the same.

"This is the best we've got Joe, let's go. I'll fly with you." Joe quickly zipped his bag up before following him through the building, he was somewhat glad to be going home. England was nice but it wasn't his home.

"Things have been progressing slowly so hopefully it will stay that way." Marty breathed Joe nodding his head climbing into the car that was waiting for him. He didn't say a word during the car journey, he didn't have anything to say but within ten minutes they were on the plane heading towards America so Joe could be with Demi. Whether they got there in time was another thing.
