Forty Four

Demi watched as the ambulance drove off with her boyfriend inside, it didn't take long for it to come deciding to take him to hospital right away. Emily had gone with him, Demi didn't know if she could be there with him as he went through the hospital yet again. She had only known him for a handful of months and this was the third time he was going to the hospital for something serious.

"I-I'm sorry." She heard the man turning around to him.

"Don't worry about it, it wasn't your fault. He jumped out in front of you." Demi assured him, she didn't blame the man in front of her at all.

"I-I should have been more aware." Demi shook her head.

"My boyfriend has a mental disorder, it wasn't even him who jumped out. You weren't speeding and I'm sure you were being careful, don't blame yourself." Demi answered.

"B-Boyfriend?" He choked his eyes wondering down to her small bump that you could see now. She was sixteen weeks along now.

"He will be okay, don't worry about him not being a father. It's a thirty speed limit zone and I think you were going even slower than that, would you like to come to the hospital to ensure yourself that he is okay?" He nodded his head gently.

"Let me just park my car," He breathed. "My name is Ben by the way."

"Demi." She introduced back watching him walk away, she was sure Joe was going to be okay physically but he still well mentally.

When Joe arrived at the hospital he was assessed straight away revealing just minor injuries. Emily was with him the whole time once they knew nothing serious was going on, he was scared not knowing what had happened for him to be in so much pain but he could have guessed he was hit by the car. He had a couple of broken ribs, the cut on his head had to be stitched up and his broken arm put into a cast but once they were all healed there wouldn't be any long lasting injuries, not caused by the crash anyway.

"Me first." Emily grinned slightly leaning over signing her name on his cast along with Elliot's she then kissed his cheek gently.

"Thanks." He grumbled feeling a little rough from what had happened and the painkiller's he was on keeping him from too much pain. They looked towards the door when they heard a knock soon seeing Demi appear, Harvey was behind her. Ben was waiting outside while they had a talk.

"Hi, how are you feeling?" Demi inquired kissing his lips gently Joe closing his eyes in satisfaction as she begun to run her fingers through his hair.

"Woozy." He admitted making them laugh.

"Go to sleep." Demi encouraged it not taking long for his body to relax as he dropped off for a well needed sleep. Demi sat down on the chair but kept hold of his hand as she had the side which didn't have the broken arm.

"I've been thinking, this is getting serious and we need to do something about it." Harvey stated looking towards Demi and Emily.

"What though? We can't exactly keep him locked in the house." Emily replied.

"No but there are places which can keep him locked in the building while we work on deconstructing his personalities mainly Matt and work on uniting them." He suggested, Emily and Demi looked at one another.

"It will be for the best." Demi breathed Emily nodding her head in agreement.

"Since as only one of his personalities is destructive and harming him he won't be very far up on the list but I'll see what I can do." He stood up and left after saying goodbye, they looked over at Joe as he slept wanting everything to be better for him.
