Calum:
"Hello." You smiled at your best friend.
"Hey." He replied, a bit nervous.
"What's up?" You asked, noticing how nervous he was.
"I-I have to tell you something. Just-- Don't freak out."
"Okay. . ." You said slowly.
"(y/n), we've been best friends for two years and, well, I-I like you."
Your heart broke. "Cal, I like you. . . But, not like that. I'm really sorry and I wish I could like you more than a friend, I really do. I-I'm sorry."
"It's okay. . . I just-- I need to get over you."
You didn't want to be the one who broke his heart. You wanted to be the one who he'd tell everything to and call names like "weirdo." Not "babe" or "baby."
You nodded. "I'm sorry."
Ashton:
"Hey, (y/n)," Ashton said, catching your attention.
"Hey." You offered him a smile. "How does it feel to be back in Sydney?"
"It feels great." He beamed. "Do you like anyone?"
"I do." You nodded.
"Really?" He smiled.
"Yeah. You might know him, I'm not sure." You shrugged.
"I think I know who it is." Ashton leaned in, about to kiss you. You took a step back.
"Ash, I don't-- I don't like you that way. I-I can't, you're like a brother to me. Not a crush. I'm sorry." You glanced at the floor.
"Oh." Ashton finally said. "I'm-- I'm going to leave." He walked towards the door.
"Ashton." You said, not wanting to lose your best friend. You followed him quickly.
"What, (y/n)? I thought you liked me. I had been gone for a while, I thought you missed me."
"I did miss you, Ash. But, not like that. I missed my best friend." You bit your lip.
"I think it's best if we don't talk for a while." He decided, opening the door. "Bye."
Luke:
You had the biggest crush on Luke Hemmings, who happened to be your best friend for a few years. Ever since you both met at school when he was fifteen.
You never told him, but you would today.
No more running from it. You have to tell him.
You started walking towards Luke before debating whether to leave the park or keep walking.
"(y/n)!" You heard Luke's voice exclaim.
There went the leaving option. You continued walking towards him before you sat down on the bench. "Hi."
"Hey." He smiled. It disappeared and was replaced by concern. "Are you okay? I can tell you're nervous."
"Yeah, I just have to do a presentation tomorrow." You lied, giving him a small smile.
"Oh. Well, you'll do great. You always do."
"Yeah-- That isn't the reason." You sighed.
"What is it? You can tell me. I'm your best friend." He looked at you patiently.
"Okay, you're right. Luke, this isn't an easy thing to say to you. But. . . I like you. I have since we met." You confessed, afraid of him not feeling the same.
Your fear became real when he said "(y/n), I. . . I'm sorry. I don't-- I don't feel the same way about you. I wanted to tell you. . . I have a girlfriend."
"Oh." You glanced at the grass before getting up. "That's great. I hope she's the right one." You smiled at him, your heart breaking. "I should go."
"(n/n)." Luke said softly, looking at you.
"Bye, Luke. I'll-- I'll see you around."
Michael:
It might have been weird to some, but you didn't really want to actually say how you felt. So, you made cupcakes. With a note confessing your feelings. He loved food. Therefore, it was the best way.
You knocked on the door. Michael opened it before smiling. "(y/n)!" He motioned for you to come inside. You did so and he closed the door.
"Hey. I-I made cupcakes, if you want them." You said, starting to get a nervous feeling in your stomach.
"Yeah! Thank you." He beamed.
You grinned. "No problem." He took the tray of cupcakes.
"I'll put these in the kitchen. Before I take one." He chuckled.
You laughed. "I hope you like them."
He grabbed one and took a bite. After swallowing, he grinned. You heard the door open. A beautiful girl entered the house.
"Babe, you have to try these cupcakes!" Michael exclaimed. Your heart broke, hearing what he called her.
"I'm going to head back, I just wanted to drop those off." You lied, desperate to get out of there before he saw the note.
"Oh, okay. Thank you." He said.
"No problem. Bye." You smiled before leaving.
Michael saw a note folded up on the tray. He opened it:
Michael, this might ruin our friendship, but it might not. Hopefully. I just wanted to tell you. I've had the biggest crush on you for a year. You might not feel the same or you might. I couldn't keep it a secret any longer. -(y/n)
"What?" He breathed, putting the note in his pocket before his girlfriend found out.
