Calum:
I was so scared to face my fears.
'Cause nobody told me that you'd be here."(y/n), there's a small party!" Your friend smiled.
"No, thanks. Dresses aren't my thing." You said.
"That's the thing. We can dress casual."
"Fine, I'll go." You let out a sigh. You changed into an outfit and went to the party. There were only twenty to thirty people there. You froze when you saw a boy you hadn't seen in a few months. "(Friend's name)!" You hissed.
She followed your gaze. "Oops. I'm sorry, I forgot. Just-- Have fun and try to ignore him." She disappeared into the small crowd.
You let out a sigh. She didn't get it. Calum was your boyfriend for a year and a half before he broke up with you. You still loved him. How could you forget him?
"(y/n)?" Calum asked.
You reluctantly met his gaze. "Hi. No one told me you were here. . ."
"Yeah, same for you." He replied. This was really awkward.
Ashton:
I guess I still care
Do you still care?"(y/n), that was a month ago." Ashton said quietly. You had decided to give your ex-boyfriend a call and ask how he's been. Somehow, you both got onto the subject of your relationship.
"I know." You replied.
"Why did you call in the first place?" He questioned, meaning it in a curious way. It wasn't rude at all.
"I'm not sure. To see how you've been." You let out a sigh.
"I've been good, I guess. . .?" He sounded like it was awkward for him. It was awkward for you, too.
"Do you still care?" You suddenly asked. You just spoke your thoughts accidentally. Again. But, you'd be lying if you said you weren't curious about the answer.
"Goodbye, (y/n)." He hung up.
"I guess that answers my question." You bit your lip, feeling disappointment. "Maybe I shouldn't either. . . Bye, Ash." You were finally going to let go of him.
Luke:
But if by chance you're here alone,
Can I have a moment?
Before I go?
'Cause I've been by myself all night long.
Hoping you're someone I used to know. You watched him from the opposite side of the room. Girls slowly left his side, going somewhere else. You slowly walked over to him. He was here alone. It was obvious, every girl was after him. Because, he didn't have one. For a year now.
"Luke?"
"Hm?" He turned around and blinked. "(y/n)?"
"Hi. I didn't realize you were so popular." You let out a light laugh.
"Yeah, I guess I am. I don't really care for it, though. Did you need anything?" He asked, still surprised.
"I-- Can I have a moment before I go?"
"Sure, I guess so." He nodded. "What's up?" You noticed how his blue eyes looked around nervously and he bit his lip.
"I've been here alone. . . I hoped you were someone I once knew. The Luke I knew, I guess. The one I-- Forget it." You let out a sigh, turning around and walking to the door.
"The one you what?" He questioned softly.
"The one I loved, Luke." You answered. "The one I still love. But, I can see you've moved on to all the girls, so just forget it."
"(y/n), wait--" He sighed. But, you had already left.
Michael:
And I swore you moved overseas
That's what you said, when you left meYou bumped into someone. "Sorry."
"It's fine."
Wait.
You'd recognize that voice anywhere. No way.
You turned around before he could disappear. "Michael?" You whispered. He kept walking, not hearing you. You quickly walked after him, sprinting as fast as you could. "Michael!" He turned around and you came to a halt. "I thought you moved overseas."
"What? Who told you that?"
"You did." You said, now angry at him for lying to you. "Three weeks ago. When we broke up. That was the reason, you said."
"(y/n)."
"But, wait, why would you? You're not going anywhere that you told me. You planned to stay in Sydney." You scowled. "You liar."
"I know I lied, (y/n)." Michael let out a frustrated sigh. "I couldn't tell you that I didn't love you anymore."
You looked at him, nodding. "Okay. Bye, Michael."
"(y/n)--"
"Don't talk to me. You didn't have to lie to me. You could have told me. Sure, it would hurt just as much. But, I would know the truth. I thought you still loved me. Now, I see that's not the case. Just leave me alone."
You quickly moved around Michael, walking away. You didn't want to talk to him. He should have said something the first time.
