Calum:

Your best friend was dating a boy named Calum. They had been dating for two months and she introduced you to him. You got along well. You found out you had a big crush on him and it was wrong.

Today, she invited him over. You secretly didn't want her to, but you told her she could. You wanted her to be happy and spend time with her boyfriend.

The doorbell rang. (Friend's name) raced to the door and opened it. "Babe!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms around Calum. He smiled, hugging her.

"Hey." He kissed her cheek.

You wanted to throw up. You hated seeing them show their affection in front of you. Especially when you had feelings for her boyfriend. They pulled away and he entered the house.

"Hi, (y/n)." He greeted, seeing you. You were sitting in a chair. You looked at him.

"Hey, Calum. How have you been?" You asked casually.

"I've been good, thanks." He sat down on the couch. (Friend's name) sat on his lap, making you uncomfortable.

A phone started ringing. (Friend's name) got up. "Oh, I should probably go see who that is. If I don't come back right after, it's someone I know and I have to talk to them." She left the room.

"So, how have you been?" Calum asked, breaking the silence. "I never asked you."

"I've been fine. How's the band?"

"Good. We released another album." He said.

"I'll have to listen to it." You said. He nodded.

"Listen, (y/n), I have to tell you something. . ." Calum sighed.

"Sure, go ahead." You replied, leaning back in your chair.

"I. . . Well, this isn't easy. . . I can't help but feel attracted to you." Calum confessed. You blinked, unsure if you heard him correctly.

"What?"

"I like you, (y/n). More than a friend. I want to be with you." He told you.

"Calum, I want to be with you, too. But, I can't. We can't be together. You're dating my best friend." You reminded him.

"I know." Calum sighed.

"Do you love her?" You asked.

"I-I don't know."

"If you don't know, then just let her go." You replied, wanting the best for your friend. "I can't hurt her, Calum."

"I can't either. How do I tell her that I don't love her and I love her best friend?"

"You can't. At least, not the last part. It will crush her. You know it will. Just. . . Tell her you fell for her at first, but your love for her faded." You suggested. "She can't know I'm the reason. I shouldn't be the reason. I never should have met you."

"That's your solution? To forget me?" He asked, surprised and hurt.

"I don't know." You said. "What else can I do? She's been there for me. She always has been. I can't do this to her."

"(y/n), there has to be another way."

"There isn't. I'm sorry, Calum. I have to go." You got up, speed-walking to the door. You opened it. "Just tell her I had to leave." You stepped outside, closing the door behind you. That was the last time you spoke to Calum Hood.

Ashton:

"(y/n), you should meet my boyfriend!" (Friend's name) smiled. "I think you'll like him."
