It was 3am and Troye continued to scroll through this mother's Facebook page. His family usually didn't outwardly celebrate Hanukkah they just got a few presents for each other and exchanged gifts privately. Troye aimless scrolled through pictures of Sage laughing and Tyde smiling as they sat at some kind of holiday party. He paused at an image of his mom, dad, Tyde, Sage, and Steele sitting on the steps of his home. He felt all of his emotions bubbling inside.
He just looked at the image of all their smiling faces, all of the comments on the photo were stating how beautiful Laurelle's family was. Troye's eyes began to water with hot tears. They didn't even miss him, no one commented asking where he was. They probably didn't even notice that he wasn't there, he thought as the hot tears rolled down his face. No one like him anyway, whats the point of breathing when no one cares. He was not enough for himself let alone anyone else. He just continued to stare at the image on his screen.
Now he had to go spend Christmas with Tyler and his happy family, who Troye didn't know anything about. Tyler probably didn't even want him there, he just invited him because Tyler had pity for him. The familiar numbness spread through Troye's body. He felt the need to revert to his old ways. But he was 3 months clean and scared to death of a possible relapse. He had no other options.

"Tyler" Connor yelled with a smile as Tyler walked through the front door of his home. Tyler rolled his eyes, he loved his family but coming from a family with 12 siblings could be overwhelming. His eleven year old brother Connor walked over to Tyler and began to bombard him with questions asking if he wanted to play video games. Tyler eventually agreed and slumped onto the couch in the dark living room. Soon Codi walked in and plopped down on the other side of the couch as she clicked away on her phone. Eventually Connor and Tyler's other siblings got sent to bed and Tyler sat on the couch with Codi and his mom and step dad, Ken.
"So um is it okay that I invited Troye over for christmas and christmas eve, his family is away and he doesn't really celebrate it but I didn't want him to spend it alone" Tyler said to his parents who sat leaning into each other on a different part of the large 'L' shaped couch. Tyler's mom, Jackie, looked away from the television show that was playing.
"Sounds good to me sweetie, I mean you warned him about the craziness here right?" Jackie questioned as his stepfather wrapped his arm over Jackie's shoulder. "Not yet, but I will" Tyler said. Tyler's stepfather looked up and smiled "Well the last thing we would want is for a young adult to be spending the holiday season alone. That could affect their mental health, he is more than welcome" Ken said
"No being all shrink like, you'll scare him away" Tyler said with a flat tone (his step dad was a therapist) Suddenly Codi chirped into the conversation "wait if Tyler can have a friend can I?" Tyler groaned. Having so many siblings was hard because what you allow one to do you usually have to allow the others to do as well. Tyler desperately hoped that his parents would say no because 12 kids was more than enough had he didn't need anymore in the house when he brought Troye over. He didn't know much about Troye, but he knew that the small boy hated crowds. "No Codi this is a special circumstance" Ken replied and Tyler smiled at him
Tyler muttered a quick thank you and good night before he climbed the stairs to his room. He aimlessly scrolled through tumblr stalking a few random blogs before he looked up and noticed that it was nearly 3am. He shut his laptop and rolled on his side trying to find sleep but he couldn't. He was starving, but couldn't eat. All he could think about was the holiday cake sitting in the kitchen covered in white icing and red writing. Here he was again thinking about food and the thought of gaining weight and making himself look fat struck his heart. But not for long before his phone started ringing.

"hello!?" Troye froze at the sound of Tyler's concerned yet questioning voice
"Troye? are you there?"
"Y-yeah" Troye cleared his throat "Yeah I'm here, sorry"
"Its okay"
Silence hummed through the telephone lines as neither Troye nor Tyler spoke up. Silent tears ebbed down Troye's face every time he blinked. Tyler could sense the unspoken tension and cleared his throat
"Missed my voice" Tyler said in a soft joking tone trying to lighten the mood
"You could say that" Troye whispered with a sad broken voice
"Troye" Tyler hesitated "don't say no"
"To what Ty" he whispered as more tears tumbled out of his eyes quietly
"I'm coming over"
"Tyler its almost 3:30 in the morning don't be stu-"
"I said don't say no"
"Tyler..." he said breathlessly trying to hold himself together but failing miserably
"Troye. I'll be there in 5 minutes"
"T-Tyler" Troye desperatly croaked trying not to cry louder at the overwhelming build up of emotions
"I know love, I'm coming"
The line went dead and Troye was left alone in the silence once again.
Tyler flung the blankets off his body and threw his favorite mustard hoodie over his black t-shirt. He slipped on a pair of slippers and grabbed his wallet, keys, and a beanie off of his dresser. He descended the stairs as quietly as possible as he passed the rooms filled with his sleeping family. He closed the front door and locked it behind him and stepped into his jeep.
