Moving Forward

Part 12

Emily Prentiss' POV

Days have passed and we had the right to take the weekend off. We were so tired... It has been a hard case for everyone, but especially for Joy, because it was her first case for a while and because she brought Zoe with her.

Aaron is sleeping. I'm trying not to wake him up. Oliver is also sleeping, so I don't make noise because he rarely sleeps until 8am and now it's 9:30am.

I slowly turn to see Aaron. And then I turn back to stare at the ceiling. I take a deep breath. My stomach hurts a little bit, but it must be nothing. It's maybe only my period.

I take my phone and I send an SMS to JJ.

"Wanna do something today? With or without the kids."

I remember that it's only 9:30am. I hope not to wake her up. So I send her another SMS.

"I'm sorry if I woke you up."

I get an answer within a minute.

"You didn't wake me up, don't worry! Spence and the kids are still sleeping. They played a lot yesterday!"

"What did they do yesterday?"

"Spence wanted to give me a day off. So he spent the day outside with the kids. They went to the amusement park. And, as I heard, they had a lot of fun!"

"Oliver and Aaron are still sleeping too! But I think it's because we watched a movie too late."

"What did you watch?"

"We watched Toys Story and we ordered pizza! I thought it was a great idea to do something together because we weren't here for a while."

"It must have been nice!"

"It was! And, as I asked earlier, do you want to do something today? With or without the kids."

"I need to ask Spence about this. But I think we will stay home to relax! Thank you for asking!"

"I won't go anywhere, so if you change your mind!"

"Thank you!"

I shut down my phone while feeling another cramp. I decide to prepare the breakfast. I go downstairs and I start to prepare pancakes. Oliver loves pancakes!
