Part 14

Aaron Hotchner's POV

It's Valentine's Day and I planned nothing. I don't know what Emily wants to do. I decide to organize a romantic dinner with everything that comes with.

Emily seems lost in her thoughts.

"What's wrong?" I ask Emily.

"Nothing. It's just that since yesterday I have no news from JJ and Spencer... It has been the tenth times that Oliver asks if he can go play with Jaeden and Hope."

"Did you called or texted them?"

"Sure I did!"

"I'll try to call JJ to plan something maybe tomorrow."

"Okay."

I take out my phone and I dial JJ's number.

"Hi?"

"Hi JJ, it's Hotch."

"Hey, Hotch! What's up?"

"It has been a while that Oliver wants to play with Jaeden and Hope. Do you think it could be possible tomorrow?"

"No. I don't think it could be possible. Jaeden and Hope are sick. They have a fever. Maybe next time."

"Yes, of course. Thank you!"

I hang up.

"And?"

"They can't because Jaeden and Hope are sick."

"Oh. Great..."

Oliver comes running.

"Mommy! Daddy! There's a monster under my bed! It swallowed my toys!"

I run to him and I grab him.

"I'm gonna catch that monster!" I say, running upstairs with Oliver in my arms.

When I enter in his room and I gently pitch Oliver on the bed. And he laughs. I lay down and I check under the bed.

"What did the monster took?"

"My Superman."

I put my arm under the bed and I search with my hand.

"Uh... I think the monster ate your Superman..."

I hear Oliver starting to cry. I get out my arm from the bed and I tickle Oliver with his Superman.

"Superman!"

I tickle him and he starts to laugh a lot. Then he begs me to stop. I continue a few seconds and then I stop.

"Wanna make a surprise to Mommy?"

"Yes!"

"Okay. But you have to stay quiet. Don't tell Mommy we're going to make her a surprise. I'll explain everything to you in the car. Understood?"

"I will be as quiet as a mouse."

"Great. Come. We're going to tell Mommy we have to go."

"Can I bring Superman with me?"

"Of course, you can!"

I get out of his room. Oliver follows me with Superman.

"Honey. Do you mind if I go take some pizzas at the grocery store for dinner? Oliver wants pizza for dinner."

"Yeah, of course."

"Oliver's gonna come with me."

"Okay. Go ahead!"

I approach her and I take her face in my hands. I look in her eyes, before looking at her lips and I kiss her.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Then I walk away and I beckon Oliver to follow me.

We go outside and we enter the car. I set him in his seat and I get in.

"Ready Buddy?"

"Yes!"

"Do you know what day we are?"

"No."

"It's Valentine's Day. It's the day of love. And I wanna do something special for Mommy because I love her a lot."

"I love Mommy too!"

"I know Buddy."

"Are we going to buy pizza?"

"If you want."

"I want pizza!"

"Okay, we will take a pizza."

I drive to the floral shop.

"Why do we go to the shop of flowers?"

"It's the floral shop. I'm gonna order a bunch of flowers for Mommy. You stay here while I order some flowers. I'm gonna lock the doors. You watch the car?"

"Yes, Daddy."

I get out and I lock the door. I walk to the floral shop and I enter. I walk to the counter and I ask a woman if it's possible to order flowers.

"For your wife?"

"Yes. Can I order now and pick the bunch later?"

"Yes."

"Can you make a bunch with the most beautiful flowers?"

"Yes. Do you want a card?"

"Yes, please."

"What do you want to write?"

"Uh... 'Nobody, not even a poet, would know how to say or describe the infinite happiness that my heart can contain when you're by my side. This is why I would settle for this few words on this Valentine's card to tell you that I love you.'"

"Okay..." She says, finishing to write what I said. "And it's from..."

"Write: 'From the sexiest agent'."

"Okay. And when will you pick up the bunch?"

"In thirty minutes."

"Okay. See you later."

I get back to the car and I get in.

"Next stop: the grocery store."

"Yeah!"
