Part 70

Jennifer Jareau's POV

This case was really quick. In less than a day, we already know who the Unsub it. He wasn't really organized! We're on our way to the Unsub's house which is a little bit outside of Quantico. Once arrived, Hotch asks Emily to stay in the car.

"Aaron. I'm not on maternity leave yet and I'm gonna continue to work on the field till my maternity leave, okay?"

"Honey... I just don't wanna lose another daughter. It's dangerous! You're six months pregnant!"

"I know. But I swear it'll be okay. Anyway, you'll have my back, I know it."

Aaron didn't know what to say anymore, so he let her come with us.

We pull out our gun and we walk furtively inside. The sound of something falling coming from behind catches our attention.

"Emily?" Kate says.

Hotch rushes to his girlfriend, I walk to her. She's on the floor and she has lost consciousness. Derek takes Aaron by the shoulders and walks away with him.

"We have to catch the Unsub," Derek says to Aaron.

Aaron weakly nods, thinking about what he said to Emily about staying in the car to avoid problems like that. I stay with Emily while the others arrest the Unsub.

"Emily? Do you hear me?" I ask, checking her pulse.

Her pulse is weak and irregular. A think it's just a pressure drop. I call EMTs and they arrive with a stretcher. I follow them as they walk away, checking her vital signs. I get in the ambulance and we head to the hospital. Since the beginning, I'm holding her hand tight.

We finally arrive at the hospital and Emily is rushed to a room. I sigh and I sit in the waiting room. My phone rings; it's Aaron calling.

"How is she?" He asks.

"She's with a doctor. But I think it was only a pressure drop. It arrives sometimes. I don't think you should worry about that."

"Anyway, we're on our way to the hospital. See you there," he declares, hanging up.

A doctor enters the waiting room.

"Mrs. Jennifer Jareau?"

I get up and I walk to the doctor.

"Mrs. Prentiss is okay. It was only a pressure drop. She's fine. She's in the room 28."

"Thank you."

I walk to the room and enter.

"JJ," Emily declares, smiling.

"How're you feeling?"

"Good. Look at that," she says, handing me an ultrasound.

I stare at it.

"It's my daughter," she smiles, eyes filling up with tears.

"I can't wait to see her!" I say, hugging her.

I hear the door opening so I turn back; it's Aaron.

"Um... JJ. Could I speak to Emily? In private."

I nod and I get out.

Aaron Hotchner's POV

I sit on the corner of her hospital bed and put a hand on her belly. Then I put my hand in her hair.

"Sweetie... You scared me a lot today. And I thought I'd lost you, again..."

"Aaron. It was only a pressure drop. I'm okay. I'm not the first woman to have had a pressure drop during their pregnancy, and I'm not the last."

"I know, but still... Anyway... I don't want you on the field anymore. You can still work, but I don't want you on the field, okay?"

"But..."

"There's no buts. I'm your boss. And I'm your boyfriend. And the father of your children. And I want the best for you. Always," I declare, letting down a little kiss on her forehead.

Jennifer Jareau's POV

Suddenly, I feel a wave of nausea. Before throwing up on the floor, I run to the washroom.

Spencer Reid's POV

Without any warning, Jennifer runs to the washroom. I follow her and I knock on the door.

"Are you okay?"

There's no answer. But after a few seconds, Jennifer gets out.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, fine. Sorry, if I worried you. I'm okay."

"Okay, I'll believe you for now. But we have to pick up the kids. It's running late and the dinner isn't ready yet..."

"We don't have a dinner, Spence."

"Yeah... We could pick up the kids, then pick something on our way home."

"What time is it, though?"

"7:38pm."

"The kids must be hungry!" She exclaims.

We say goodbye to everyone and we head back to the BAU to pick up the kids.
