Spencer Reid's POV
I run out of the ambulance, following JJ who's in a stretcher. An ambulance woman is over her, performing CPR. She's doing this since she entered the ambulance. I make sure to stay behind her. But when she enters the surgery room, a doctor gives me a sign with his hand to stay outside.
"Will she be okay? She's gonna be fine, right? She has to be alright! She has two kids!"
A surgeon passes behind and before entering the surgery room, she stops and looks at me.
"We're gonna do our best, but she lost a lot of blood. You should rest in the waiting room. I'm gonna warn you when it'll be over."
I nod and she goes inside.
I walk to the waiting room. Everybody's already there, even Oliver and Zoe.
"Oh, crap... The babysitter has to leave in an hour!"
I take my phone and I dial Sandy's number.
"Hi, Spencer! How are you?"
"Uh... It could be better. Can you do me a favor?"
"Yes, of course."
"Could you stay with the kids tonight?"
"Spencer. What's wrong?"
"Jennifer has been stabbed. We're at the hospital. She's in surgery."
"Oh my God! I'm coming to the hospital!"
"No, Sandy. Please."
"Okay... Will she be alright?"
"I don't know. A surgeon told me they are going to do their best, but she has lost a lot of blood."
"Oh my God! My little girl!"
"Can you, please, don't tell the kids about what's happening? I'm gonna call you when she'll be out of surgery."
"Okay..."
Then she hangs up. I let myself fall on the floor, Rossi runs toward me.
"Hey, kid. Are you okay?"
I turn to him, tears flowing down my cheeks. He helps me to get up and I sit on a chair. I let my head fall into my hands, Rossi rubs my back.
"It's gonna be okay Kiddo."
I raise my head and I nod.
"Uh... I'm gonna go. Zoe's pretty tired and she hates sleeping in her car seat. But I'll be back tomorrow. You can call me if there's anything," Joy says.
"I'm gonna go too because Oliver is sleepy. But Aaron's gonna stay and I won't sleep till you call me to tell me JJ's alright," Emily declares.
I see that Emily has been crying a lot. Her eyes are puffy and red and her cheeks are wet. Aaron hugs her and kisses her before saying goodnight to his son and to his unborn child, even though Emily doesn't have a big belly because she's only 10 weeks pregnant.
"Hey, Kiddo. You should try to sleep a bit," Rossi says.
"No. I'm not gonna sleep knowing that my fiancée is still on the table. I'll sleep when she'll be out of surgery."
"As you want. Do you want coffee, though?"
"Uh... Yes. One milk, two sugars, please."
"Consider it done."
Then Rossi leaves, leaving me with my thoughts. Is she really going to survive? How will I tell the kids if she dies?
