Part 65

Two Weeks Later

Jennifer Jareau's POV

Today, it's Hope's and Jaeden's birthday. They turn 4 today. Spencer left with the kids 2 hours ago to the BAU. I just woke up. I'm going to go to the BAU today, not to work but to see everyone. I get out from the bed and I dress up. Before putting my shirt on, I change my bandage. In a few days, I will have to go to the hospital because a nurse has to cut my stitches. I go downstairs and I make myself a coffee. I see a note on the table. It's from Spencer.

I'm gonna bring back a cake tonight and pizza to celebrate. I'll call you later. Have a nice day! Xx

Once my coffee is ready, I put on my boots and coat. Today, Spencer left with Morgan because the car is still there. So I get in the car and I drive to the BAU.

Once I arrive at the BAU, I'm welcomed by Hotch.

"Oh, JJ. You look great today. What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to say hi to everyone."

He hugs me, but not too tight.

"When do you think you'll come back to work?"

"Um... Maybe after Christmas. Is it okay?"

"Take all the time you need!"

I walk to the Conference room and I see Spencer, Derek, David, Joy, and Kate. I knock on the doorframe, everyone looks up.

"Jennifer, what are you doing here?" Spencer asks, getting up and walking to me.

"I just wanted to say hi," I answer.

He then kisses me.

"You seem to feel better!" Derek notices.

"Of course, I am! I've been resting for weeks! I'm glad to be back on my feet!" I laugh.

Everyone hugs me, then tells me that they can't wait to see me back at work. After, I walk to Penelope's office. When I enter, I see Hope, Jaeden, and Oliver playing together while Zoe is playing with her dolls and Lacey is sleeping. Penelope turns back.

"JJ! You're back!"

She gets up and hugs me tight. I moan a bit and she steps back.

"I'm sorry..."

"That's okay!"

"Are you back at work?"

"Not really. I'll come back after Christmas."

"Can't wait to see you back here!"

I hug her and I go back to Hotch's office because I wonder where Emily is.

"Hotch, have you seen Emily?"

"Uh... She's home resting. She didn't feel great this morning."

"Okay."

I get out of his office and I get in the car. I decide to go see how's feeling Emily. But before, I decide to call her. I dial her number and I wait a few seconds, but it's her voicemail. I remember that today, it has been 4 years since her abduction and the loss of her daughter. I decide to head straight to her house. Once I arrive, I knock at her door, but she doesn't answer. As it's not locked, I enter. The house is a mess.

"Emily?"

There's not answer.

"Emily?"

I hear a scream coming from the bathroom. So I run upstairs.

"Emily!"

She's sat on the bathroom's floor. The mirror is broken and there are pieces of glass everywhere. Emily is holding a piece of glass near her wrist. She has scratches on her face as if she scratched herself. I run to her. But before I hold her against me, she cuts herself. I hold her tight and she starts to scream. She fights back and runs to her bedroom. I run after her, and she sits in the corner of her bedroom. She's crying and screaming. I see that she's not herself anymore. I slowly walk to her.

"Emily. Look at me. Emily!"

She restarts to scratch her face. I run to her to make her stop. But as I approach her she takes a frame in which there's a family picture and throws it at me. It hits my head. I put my hand on my forehead and I notice that I bleed. But I have to help Emily first. I decide to call Hotch. As I call him, Emily runs out of the room, but she falls and hits her head. I run to her and I hold her tight against me.

"It's okay, Emily. I got you. It's okay. It's me, Jennifer. You're okay."

She starts to scream and cry.

"Shhh... It's okay."

I put my hand in her hair. Once she's calmed, I call Hotch and I also call 911. And I make sure to keep Emily against me, trying to stop the bleeding from her wrist.
