Jennifer Jareau's POV

"Okay, Emily, it's not because I'm not there that you have the right to get out of your bed. I'll be back in a few hours. So if you have to pee, call Pen. I told Oliver that if you're too tired, he has to let you rest. By the way, he's playing in his room with Zoe and Lacey. Dave, Joy, Pen, Carolyn, Derek, Savannah, Desiree, Kate, Chris, Meg, and Alex are making your daughter's room. They said they would like to finish it this weekend if it's possible. And tonight, I'll probably come back with pizza, is it okay with you? Do you want something else?"

"Can you bring back some chocolate ice cream, please?"

"I'll bring some. So, see you later!"

I leave her room and get to Emily's daughter's room to warn everyone that I'm leaving. Then I go downstairs and I get in the SUV where Spence and the kids are waiting for me. Once I enter, Spence puts his hand on my belly and look at me right in the eyes.

"Jennifer. I love you so much. You don't even know how much. And I'm so ready to see this baby for the first time."

He takes my chin between his fingers and approaches his lips to mine. We kiss for a long minute and we're forced to end our kiss to catch our breath.

"Are you ready?" He asks me.

I nod.

We drive to the hospital and once arrived, we unbuckle the kids. Spence holds Jaeden and I hold Hope because she begged me to. We get in the elevator and we get to the fifth floor. Once in front of our doctor's office, Spence knocks.

"C'mon in!" Our doctor tells us.

As we enter, we let the kids down so they can go play with the toys. Spence and I sit in front of Dr. Harris.

"So, how're you feeling, Jennifer?"

"I've seen better days, but it's getting better. I have less morning sicknesses and I have fewer headaches but still... The side effects of the pregnancy, you know! And as I'm thinking about it right now, could it be possible not to know the baby's gender before I gave birth?"

"Of course it's possible! So, um... I know it's early to talk about this right now, but I know during your first semi-full-term pregnancy, you gave birth earlier and it has caused some problems but you know the story! So I would want you to start your maternity leave around the 27th week and I would like you to reduce your stress as much as possible because your contractions had been induced because of your high level of stress at the moment. So we'll do as your last pregnancy, though it'll be less long. So I know that in the last years you've had a surgery because of a miscarriage, you also had a surgery after being shot in the abdomen, you've had a surgery after being stabbed and I know there were some complications. Did you have other surgeries?"

"Not at all."

"Do you have new allergies?"

"Neither."

"Did you have some bleeding?"

"No."

"Any pain or discomforts you didn't have during the firsts months of your firsts pregnancies?"

"Not at all."

"You're 35?"

"Yes."

"You don't smoke?"

"Nope."

"Okay, I'm gonna need to weigh you. Could you get on the weighing machine, please?"

I get up and I walk to it. Even though I hate being weighed, I know I have to do it. I get on it and I wait a bit before looking down: 135 pounds. I've already started to gain some weight... But I know I'm gonna lose all that after having given birth.

"Could you please sit there so I can examine you?"

I nod and I take place. Dr. Harris starts by looking at my heart rate and my blood pressure. Then, he palps my back.

"Did you start having some back pain?"

"A bit, but it's like the last pregnancy."

He then checks my breathing.

"Did you stop working out?"

"Yes, I did because I have to take care of a friend until the end of her pregnancy, so yeah, I did."

"I would recommend you to start again before it's too late because you seem more breathless than during your last pregnancy. But it's nothing to worry about."

"I know, but since I got stabbed, I didn't really workout. I do jogging sometimes when I have the time, but since my friend is bedridden I don't really have the time anymore!"

"Okay. I would like you to lay down."

I lay down and Dr. Harris starts palpating my belly and my breasts. Then, he puts some gloves on and starts doing the exam of my vagina and my cervix. When it's finished, he asks us if we're ready to see the baby. We nod and Spence asks the kids to come. Once they're here, Spence grabs them and makes them sit next to me.

"We told you that you were going to have a little sister or brother, right?"

They nod.

"Do you want to see how the baby is growing in mommy's belly?"

They nod again. Dr. Harris puts some gel on my belly and passes the probe over it. A few seconds later, we hear the baby's heartbeats.

"Is the baby?" Hope asks, pointing the screen.

"Yes, it is," Spence answers.

We're all staring at the screen while the doctor is explaining to the kids where is the baby's head and everything.

"When the baby will arrive? I want to play with him!" Jaeden declares.

"You have to wait seven months before. It's a long time!" I exclaim.

"I'm gonna print the ultrasound," Dr. Harris says, wiping away the gel on my belly.

He leaves and comes back a few minutes later with the first ultrasound of the baby.
