Part 40

Aaron Hotchner's POV

I receive a call from Dave.

"Hey, Dave. What's going on?"

"Joy has the right to leave today. She'll have to rest a lot and has to take 4 weeks off. And Derek called me to come for dinner. He wanted me to ask you if you wanna come."

"Of course, I'll be there. Will Joy come?"

"No. She'll rest at home. But I'll take Zoe with me."

"Oh. Okay. See you there!"

"Bye!"

I hang up and I look at Emily who's about to enter the car.

"What's wrong?" She asks me.

"Nothing. I was wondering if you would like to come to Derek's for dinner."

"Of course, I want!"

We get in the car and we drive back home. Arriving home, we see Oliver playing outside with Penelope and Carolyn. Seeing us, Oliver stops doing what he was doing and runs towards us. As I'm the one closer to him, I catch him and I hold him.

"How are you, Buddy? You're having fun with Auntie Penelope and Auntie Carolyn?"

Oliver nods. Hearing me calling her Auntie, Carolyn smiles. I look at her.

"What? You're her girlfriend, right?"

She nods.

"So you're a part of our family."

She smiles and hugs me despite the fact I'm holding Oliver.

"Thank you," she says.

Derek Morgan's POV

I'm waiting for everybody. As Desiree is feeling better, she helped me to prepare dinner. It's not as perfect as when it's Dave making it, but I think we did pretty good! Talking of him, Dave knocks at the door. He has Zoe's seat and she's in it, sleeping.

"Grandpa Dave's in the house!" I laugh.

"Really funny. Do you know where I can put Zoe's seat so she can't be bothered and can sleep?"

"Lacey's room. She's sleeping too. Do you want me to bring her there?"

"If you want. Thanks!"

Minutes passed and we talked about everything and nothing, waiting for the others to arrive.

Pretty boy and his little family arrive. Despite the chemo, Hope and Jaeden seem to feel pretty well. They enter and hug me before going to play in the living room with Dave.

"Oh, kids..." JJ sighs, dropping their bag on the floor.

I can't help myself but laugh.

"You'll see, one day you'll have kids you too," Spencer declares, seriously.

"Do you want a drink? Beer, wine, something else?" I ask them.

"A beer, please," JJ asks.

"And you?" I ask Spencer.

"Water," Spencer answers.

Spencer never really liked alcohol so I understand he just wants water, and it's fine for me.

Emily, Hotch, and Oliver arrive at the same than Penelope and Carolyn.

Seeing Hope and Jaeden, Oliver runs to the living room to play with them.

"Dave! You're babysitting now?" Emily asks him.

"What's wrong with that? Kids love me!" He laughs.

Everything went well till dinner. We're all sitting around the table. Even Lacey is in her little seat and Zoe is drinking milk that Dave prepared for her earlier. We all eat and once the kids are finished they go play in the living room while we all talk.

Then, as we are talking, we heard someone coughing. That person seems to have difficulty to breathe.

"Oh God..." JJ says.

"I'm going," Spencer declares.

"I'm already up," she declares, jogging to the living room.

Jennifer Jareau's POV

I take Hope's inhaler then I put it over her mouth and nose. I'm rubbing her back. I want her to breathe normally. Once she's breathing normally, she seems tired.

"You're sleepy?" I ask her.

As a yes, she snuggles up to me. I hold her tight and I come back to the dining room. I sit, with Hope on my knees, sleeping. It didn't take her long; she's already sleeping. But I rock her a bit, humming her a lullaby as I kiss her shaved top's head.

There's a moment of silence.

"We have something to tell you," Emily says, looking at Hotch as he closes his eyes and nods.

Everyone's looking at them, trying to figure out if it's a good or a bad news.

"I'm pregnant," she says.

I want to congratulate her but Hotch says something else.

"But there's a high rate of losing the baby because Emily wasn't supposed to be pregnant because of her abduction."

Once Hotch talked about Emily's abduction, even though it was 3 years ago, everyone felt uncomfortable. We don't know if we have to congratulate her or not.
