Emily Prentiss' POV

It's almost 2 am and I feel cramps in my stomach. Though I think it's normal so I fall back asleep. But I'm not able to. So I turn on my phone to play Candy Crush a little bit. But each cramp is more and more painful. I sit straight up in my bed as I turn off my phone and massage my belly. I need to go to the bathroom. I get up, but as I feel a huge cramp, I kneel down on the floor. I can't move anymore. I feel something strange between my legs. I let myself fall on the side and lay on the floor...

Jennifer Jareau's POV

I hear a scream coming from Emily's room; she's screaming my name. I quickly get up and run to her bedroom. I open the door and turn on the light. I see Emily, curled up on the floor.

"Emily?! Are you okay?"

"It hurts... So bad..."

"Where?"

"I think my water broke..."

"Oh, God... We're going to the hospital."

I pick up her hospital bag which we prepared a few weeks ago and I help Emily to get up. She puts her arm around my shoulders and I help her to walk to my car. She sits next to me and I drive to the hospital as fast as I can.

"I cannot be giving birth right now! I'm not ready! It's too early! I'm only 30 weeks pregnant! I can't lose this baby!"

She starts breathing heavily and seems to have a panic attack.

"Honey, it's gonna be okay. Your daughter's gonna be fine."

"I don't even have a name for her! I... Phew... Phew... Phew..."

"Just breathe, alright? Focus on your breath. We're almost there."

I turn to Emily and I see her crying and shaking as if her PTSD was coming back. I stop the car and I turn to her. I take her face in my hand and I force her to look at me. I make her sign to breathe calmly and I wipe her tears away.

"I'm just scared..."

"It's gonna be okay. I'm gonna stay with you. We're gonna pass through this together, alright?"

We arrive at the hospital. I help her to stand up and we slowly walk to the maternity. A nurse brings a wheelchair to Emily and we head to a room. The nurse and I help Emily to get up and lay on the bed. A doctor enters and looks in her file.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Harper. So... Mrs. Prentiss, you're only 30 weeks pregnant, right?"

"I don't want my baby to die!" She sobs.

"No one's gonna die today," the doctor answers.

He quickly examines her.

"Oh, God... Okay. Your cervix hasn't started to dilate yet. So that's good. Though in a few hours you'll start having contractions. I would like you to rest for now because we have to wait till your cervix is enough dilated. I will come back every few hours to check on you, okay?"

She nods.

"Do you have any questions?"

"Would it be possible that I give birth in the water?"

"We can arrange that. Anything else?"

"Will my doctor be there?"

"I'll call her around 7am, not to bother her because she's been working 27 hours straight. So you should get some sleep and I'll come back in a few hours. You can always page me. I'll leave you with a nurse who will check your vital signs."
