I saw a blurred handsome man, looking at me and carrying me then placing me down on the floor. "Layla!" His voice echoed through my ears, it was sweet and charming, soothing almost and speaking my name. "Layla! Can you hear me?!" The man said again though I recognised his voice this time, it was Daryl.
"Daryl?" I whimpered as my vision became clear and I saw his bloody face above me.
"Layla, we have to go now! They're coming!" He bellowed, shaking my shoulders and sitting me up, suddenly becoming conscious as the wave of confusion passed. I saw I was sitting on a muddy bank with Daryl crouched next to me. I frantically looked around and saw where I was fell from, it was only a couple meters of rigged rocks into a deep lake then a stretch to the shore where I was. The rest of the area around me, all just more trees. I heard a loud splash as walkers began to fall into the water then slowly clamber towards us through the depths of the small, dirty lake. I suddenly realised what was happening and jumped up and so did Daryl. He clasped my hand once again and bolted into the woods again both of us now soaked again, colder and more tired from the falls and running.
We were a goner, the walkers closing in on us, our death getting nearer and nearer with every frantic step we took. There was no hope left, we were running for no reason, spending our last moments together and alive wasting our breath and energy... That was until a miniscule spark of hope popped up! We came into a clearing, stones everywhere and rubble then in the middle, a small, wooden cabin with tree branches leaning over it.
"Quick! Here!" I pointed to the cabin and darted towards it, crashing into the door and letting myself in. I held the door for Daryl as he whizzed passed me then I slammed the door shut and sat with my back up against it as Daryl got a chair from inside the cabin and forced it under the door handle to it couldn't be pushed open. We both sat down, freezing and exhausted as we heard the walkers pile up against the walls of the cabin. We both let our guard down for the moment trying to relax as we were safe... Supposedly... We heard another low growl near us. I flew up to my feet and grabbed my crossbow from my back, loading it then aiming it at a dark part of the cabin we couldn't see very well. A walker emerged from the blackness and I instantly shot it right between its eyes. It dropped to the floor backwards, no longer a threat as Daryl shone his torch around the cabin. It was empty.
