I didn't know what to say. I just sat silently sort of waiting for him to tell me what happened whilst I was unconscious but he didn't. He sat up against the cavern wall next to me.

"What happened? How did we end up here?" I wondered after a minute. Even though he wasn't in a position to stop me from getting up anymore, I daren't move.

"This man and this girl. Pointed a gun at me while you were blacked out. Told me about that prick Jae. Said he used to go around alone. Targeting small groups. Taking their stuff, killing the men, women and kids..." I saw the sudden flare of hatred in his eyes just thinking about it.

"They thanked me for killin' him. Said that they were sorta forced to go with him and if they tried to leave him they probably would've been shot down. They wanted the bag, just the bag and they were gonna leave but then a herd of walkers came, attacked them both 'n' gave me time to get away. I tripped, one of the geeks got my ankle, and you fell. Kept running, ended up here." He told me bluntly. Yeah. That's why I was hurting so much. Sounds like he's been through a bit.

"So, how long was I out for?" I questioned.

"Around 2 hours I'd say. We've been in here for over an hour." He told me. I nodded. Not sure what to do now.

Daryl POV

God dammit. I had to shout at her didn't I? Me and my stupid temper. Me and my stupid feelings.

"I hope ya know, you scared the shit outta me." I admitted. She smirked at the comment but then saw the seriousness in my eyes. Wait, seriousness? God damn emotions making me look funny. God. I was an embarrassment to the Dixon family. "Really. Please let me check. I just need to see if you're ok." I could hear in my own tone that I sounded genuinely worried and I think she noticed.

"Fine," She rolled my eyes and turned to face me. I saw it in her face as she then realised how much she was hurt just to move around and winced at the pain. I got a flashlight from the bag and shone it at her face, pushing her hair out the way. That face. God it was beautiful. Her eyes perfect Jasmin green that delved into an astonishing sky blue colour with a hint of deepish purple. Wow. Like I'm sorry but I will admit, she had amazing eyes.

"Yeah, you got cuts and bruises. Don't think any need stitches though. Does it hurt bad?" I asked noticing how badly she was beat up and then started to check down her arms.

"Sorta." She admitted as she looked at her own arm too. I noticed a particular line of bruises on one of her arms. They were finger marks from where Jae had grasped her arm tightly. Hard enough to leave marks. Layla noticed. I traced his fingers along the bruises but stopped when I saw her trying to hide the fact that it hurt. Both her arms had grazes on from the falls, dried blood over them. I then had an idea. I got my rag from my pocket and a bottle out from the bag.

"Don't." She tried to stop me. "We'll need it for drinking water." She insisted but I ignored her and poured a little water onto the rag then cleaned up her face and arms which probably stung but I hoped it didn't hurt too much cus I was trying to be being extremely careful.

"Thank you," She mumbled suddenly gritting her teeth at the slight pain.

"Alright, all ok?" I asked tucking the rag into my back pocket. She pursed my lips and nodded.
