Daryl POV
I know we talked for ages. Like the whole time practically almost talking over each other because apparently we had so much to say. Really, a lot of it was just non sense. God knows what I let slip but I pray whatever I said, I hope she forgot. She then suddenly got up and went to sit in the shed1
"What the heck are you doing?" I asked as I moved out her way. She didn't answer just kept quiet until she seemed comfy enough in there, "Layla?" I spoke up getting her attention. "What are you doing?"
"I was cold." She shrugged. "It ain't gonna be much warmer in there than it is out here." I stated but she just looked at me with confused eyes.
"See for yourself," She smiled budging over. Really? She just invited me to come sit with her in this tiny shed? She can't be serious. I rolled my eyes at her and shook my head turning away. Within seconds I felt a pair of cold hands on my shoulders. I jumped up, thinking it was a walker but no... Just Layla's cold hands. I sighed in relief it wasn't one of the geeks.
"What are you doing?" I shouted. She backed back into the shed.
"Scaring you, annoying you." She raised her eyebrows and smiled. The hell? She seemed so outgoing and confident all of a sudden. I rolled my eyes and cramped into the shed with her. I don't know what she was on about, it was just as cold in here as in was out there.
"There ya happy?" I sneered. She just nodded slowly then leant her head on my shoulder again. She was faintly smiling but I could see the sadness in her eyes. I didn't stop her.
"Layla? Why are you crying?" I concerned for her.
"Is my family dead?" She choked through her tears that were still gently spilling from her eyes.
"Of course not, we don't even know if this thing is in England." I replied trying to comfort her but really I'm not very good with things like that.
"But what if it is?" She emphasized. I felt my breathing hitch, I wouldn't know? What if they were though?
"My family is gonna die or is already dead thinking I don't love them. I haven't spoken to them for over 7 years. They think I don't care! They think I left them and just abandoned them forever! Now they're dead! They're dead and I didn't get to see them again! I didn't get to tell them I still love them! That I still flippin' care! No! Now they're dead and I'll never get to tell them!" She was now crying harder and harder, not even attempting to hold them back.
"They're dead! Everyone! Everyone I even gave a shit about, is dead. Torn apart by these things without knowing that I still care!" She cried again. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her close. I think Tamara was her mum and Sam was her dad. I didn't know what to say or what to do. I didn't know if it had spread to England or not where her family was.
About half an hour went by maybe, she wasn't crying anymore. I then realized that she had fallen asleep. Just as well, it was getting sorta dark. I would have liked to maybe do a bit of hunting, carry on following the footprints of the deer I had been following but my plans got sort of squished now.
