"GUESS WHAT GUYS?" I exclaimed, running up to Lynn, Jenna, and Dane. Dane's eyes widened at my excitement. "What happened?"
I tried to contain my smile as I told him. "I completed my credits for P.E. and math! I don't have to take those classes anymore! Mr. Gaskarth said since I put more effort in and I wasn't absent too much, I was done. I just had a few more to make up. I'M FUCKING FREE!" I yelled, jumping up and down. "HOLY SHIT, YOU DID IT BABE!" Lynn exclaimed, standing up so she could wrap her arms around me, spinning me around. I laughed into her shoulder, unable to control my excitement.
"Congrats!" Dane and Jenna shouted, giving me hugs. "So what classes do you have now?" Jenna wondered. "Uh, I have science second period, english fourth, spanish fifth, then art," I told her, smiling. (I fucked up the schedules Alex doesn't have english with dane shhh)
"Nice! Means you can sleep in more," Lynn laughed, elbowing me. "True," I laughed, sitting down on her lap. "Will you spend your free period with me since you're available now?" Lynn wondered, smiling at me. I nodded my head yes and she wiggled me around in her lap, kissing my cheek excitedly.
The bell rang and Dane groaned and picked up his bag. "I'll see you later, Lex. Bye, Lynn," he waved, heading to his English class. Jenna said goodbye and walked off, running into Tyler on the way. I watched as she took his hand in hers and gave him a quick kiss.
"Where do you want to go to?" Lynn asked me, moving my hair out of my face. I shrugged. "Anywhere."

I guess I didn't really tell you how our presentation went. We didn't exactly present. It was too private, so our teacher told us to write it down and give it to her. She made us read a paper in front of the class that was vague about the topic. So, in a way, I guess we did present something.
I've learned that sometimes it's hard to realize that there are different perspectives in the world. It's not just what you see, it's what others see too, or feel. When you haven't experienced the world through someone else's eyes, it's hard to understand their experiences or struggles. When you're used to your own view, you're more focused on yourself. What you're good at, and what you aren't. The world may look ugly to you, or it could look beautiful. But sometimes when you meet a certain person, they open up your eyes and let you experience the beauty you never knew was present in your life. It's hard to accept at first, since you're not used to that perspective. But once you let it in and try to understand it, life becomes so much more open and enjoyable. You see the beauty in the things that do not seem to carry any, or the beauty in yourself that you never thought was there. Some people make life beautiful, and that's what I've found out about Lyndsey Gunnulfsen. She does not focus on the negatives. She takes her time with everything and shows you her view on the world. Sometimes it just takes a certain person to come around and open up your eyes. And that is what she has done for me.
The class stared at us for a moment before clapping, seeming to nod their heads in approval. That was the only time the entire year that anyone had ever heard my voice, and I could feel my hands shaking violently as I walked back over to my seat.

My letter was supposed to come from RISD today, but I didn't get anything in the mail, so I just went upstairs to my room and lied down in bed, wondering what I should do. I decided to call Dane, so I grabbed my phone and dialed his number, lying on my stomach as I listened to the phone ring.
"Hey, Lex, what's up?" he wondered.
"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out and watch movies or something," I replied, playing with my shoelaces. "Yeah, sure. Do you want to come over right now?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'll be there soon. Do you want me to bring anything?"
"Ooo, bring your guitar. Also, Alexa is over since we just finished practicing," he told me. "That's fine. I''ll be there soon."
I hung up after saying goodbye, grabbing my skateboard from the side of my dresser. I hadn't used it in a long time, but I figured I would get the hang of it again pretty quickly. I picked up my guitar case and adjusted the straps, holding it like a backpack. I walked down the stairs and out the front door. My mom was who knows where, and I didn't care where the hell my dad was.
I started on my way to Dane's house, not bothering to wear a helmet. If I'm being honest with you, I still didn't care if I fell to my death.
It didn't take me long to get there, since he lives pretty close to Jenna. I knocked on his front door and set my skateboard by the bench in front of his house, shrugging off the case that was encompassing my guitar. Dane answered the door a minute later, smiling widely. "Hey, Lex! Come in," he exclaimed. I walked in and he hugged me, wrapping his arms around me tightly.
When he pulled away, I saw Alexa sitting on the couch and she looked up from her phone, waving at me. "Hey."
I smiled at her and followed Dane over, watching as he sat in the middle. I was on his left, Alexa on his right. "What movie do you guys want to watch?" I just shrugged, not sure what the options were. "Alexa?"
"Uh, we should watch the Alien movies. Have you seen them Alex?" she pondered, leaning forward so she could see me. "Yeah, Dane and I used to watch them all the time."
"Nice."
